@dialtone, as I mentioned yesterday, RB find ~5km/h on the straights between Friday and Saturday since Zandvoort. This is not due to aero changes. It's due to PU modes. RB have been extremely conservative on Fridays since Zandvoort.

Nah... It's due to less front wing. He loses a ton in any corner, he simply can't keep up the same speed in the esses or degner or T7. On the other hand less wing removed the snaps in spoon which gave a big boost.

His acceleration is certainly better, likely higher engine mode as you say, but you keep checking the top line speed and that's just ignorance... Do the math, I implore you.

Look at Perez's data. Look at 2022 vs '23. There's all manner of data to look at. Anyway, expect Verstappen to be much quicker in the esses in qualifying. The speed can be masked by fuel.

PER (fp2) v PER (fp3) (this is because organic said the rain made corners harder to take)

Image

* PER significantly better in the esses
* top speed is about the same
* Acceleration is about the same
* PER had much better exit at spoon

Again, nothing here explains why VER is slower in corners except less wing.

Top speed is the same? lmao. Here is the data for your viewing. +5km/h on the main straight between Friday and Saturday. Same as Verstappen. Again, case closed.

I really don't care... these pointless discussions are why I left this forum a year ago.

There's no amount of data or math that one can display to resolve these conversations and it's just a massive waste of time. Keep your opinion and I'll keep mine.

Alfa romeo look pretty fast
the German data guy from F1.de had Bottas as 2nd quickest in the long run yesterday.

It's unlikely to be super accurate of course, and I also generally think some ways he work falsify the result of the analysis - but he brought up that Alfa was also strong on the flowing, albeit slower hot track in Hungary. So although the tracks are different, their usual tyre warm-up problem isn't a factor on either of them.

You are fuelling these discussions by being rigid and ignoring the data points that 100% fall in line with what people were telling you was going to happen. No reason to sulk and make up poor excuses because we get things wrong. I made a prediction yesterday about Merc, it was wrong.

Another Sargeant clanger. This one very bad driver error I'm afraid

Not ready for F1 this season. And I don't see him improving that much for next year now that his confidence will already be shot

He hasn't put together a clean weekend all year

That's the nail in the coffin for Sarge I'm afraid.

Probably nothing will happen but Leclerc, Zhou and Bottas noted by RD for exceeding the 1.54.0 maximum time blablabla

didn't they say in Monza that the biggest potential penalty is a reprimand anyway?
