Interesting. Kravitz says the VSC worked against Puastri due to pitting earlier and suffering deg.

Hr didn't pit because if the VSC, he was going on before ut was called. He was already struggling on his tyres, which is why he went in early. He just needs to be better on this stint, or under threat from Ferrari

Plus Piastri got "partial" VSC as he was already in when VSC was called. So he did not get full benefit of a VSC stop.

Good job Piastri! P2-P3 to the finish now.

The pace difference is enormous. Has PIA got damage or nursing an issue? Hard to believe NOR is that much quicker in race trim. But if it is then there is still a lot to learn for our rookie

Rookie’s thing that you are not able to preserve your tyre life span as long your teammate especially in circuits like Suzuka.

I think this happened earlier this year as well. Maybe his new engine could run at a higher mode in qualifying but not in the race?

But it's to be expected that Norris is better at tire management. Still a great job.

Piastri is going to be tight at the end of the race for P3, he has higher deg, despite his prodigious talent, learning to deal with high deg in races can only come with experience, Lando is lapping a second quicker and still seemingly managing as his times are metronomic.

Piastri seems to have Leclerc covered. Quicker at the moment with 6 seconds gap.

Nice to have an "uneventful" 2-3.

Norris is just having a better race. The energy you put in the tyres is crucial here. Not sure if that is the difference though or if Lando is just showing his class.

Having a faster engine shouldn't be a handicap for sure!

Is there any advantage when you are on the speed limiter and VSC suddenly starts?

Only a 20s gap to Norris from Ver. The TD thread will have a meltdown.

Others need to slow down so your loss is smaller than usually.
