Tsunoda clearly getting matched by Lawson after a few races while he himself has had 3 years already. Not impressed to be honest
Same here, I already think he is not as good as he appeared to be, just a middle of the road driver. That plus his poor emotional control and hot head does not bode well for his career.
why does it always have to get personal ,yuki pulled a gap of 3 second and liam couldnot keep up on medium tires, then on last stint yuki got delayed on pit stop just like in hungary, but his pace was good he closed the gap in a normal team they would have swap places and the faster driver clean air.liam was given powerful pu mode to defend and some instruction on how to defend strange thing for a team.piatri a rokkie is keeping pace with lando but does that make lando a bad driver no.same with lewis and alonso a team can have 2 good drivers does not mean the rise of another relegate the old to the dustbin.liam has competed in superformula the cars are faster than f1 in corners so he had proper training.yuki has 3 different teamates and non of them has been faster than him.

Gasly was faster than Yuki both years. Tsunoda had improved by the end of the year in 2022 but Pierre had little to drive for: the car was terrible and he had signed for alpine.

Lawson has matched tsunoda from the beginning despite far less experience. So in all, Yuki has only been quicker than De Vries who immediately was out of his depth and did not improve.

It's not "personal" to criticise the temperament of a driver - something that has direct effect on performance.

You appear not to believe in drivers getting faster, better, in F1 with experience. The ridiculous trashing of Lando Norris by the uninformed is a straw man argument you use that actually undermines on your own argument. Clearly Oscar has plenty to learn in race craft as F1 is very specific in skillset. The same goes for Liam. And it went for Yuki, but that's been happening for nearly three years. In 2021, Yuki was, frankly, horrible. They had to take him aside and rehome him in Europe to teach him personal stuff. That he was regarded as doing great in 2023 was a reputation honed on a struggling teammate (deVries) and the belief that the AT04 was the worst car. That he is barely quicker than a raw F1 novice who is making the car look quite decent is troubling. You sound heavily invested in Yuki, not disappointed in his mediocrity after 60 GPs. Frankly I wasn't expecting what I have seen from Lawson, who needs a whole lot more track time in an F1 car to be able to rate.

BTW - Super Formula cars are NOT faster in corners than F1 cars!

What part of “Checo is in the hot seat” followed by “we’ll see how Daniel does” was unclear?
.
Horner is talking about AFTER 2024 and "we 'll see how Daniel does; we’ll see how Yuki does and in the background we’ll see
what Liam’s capable of in the test-and-reserve role [in 2024 at AlphaTauri]".

Which part don't you understand? Horner talks about 2025 all the time.
.
If you believe that Checo will be driving for RedBull next year, I have a nice bridge to sell you.
.
I don't know if Perez will still be at RBR next year but Ricciardo certainly won't!

Norris scored a total of 122 points in 2022 and Ricciardo 37 points in his 12th year! in F1..🙈
Piastri, a rookie, already has 57 points. First year in F1 and now already more points than Ricciardo in a whole year!!

It is not without reason that Ricciardo's contract was terminated a year earlier!
If they have to find a replacement for Perez in 2024, it will certainly not be Ricciardo.

and the McLaren's were a bucket of untrustworthy crap on wheels and dont count. Perez is in the best car on the grid.

   Sure, it wasn't Ricciardo's fault that Norris scored 122 points and he himself only 37 with his huuuge experience in F1.
It was McLarens fault! That is why they fired him because it was their own fault!. 🙈

RBR gave Ricciardo a job when he was fired from McLaren as a sim driver and for marketing purposes.
When Nyck de Vries was a huge disappointment, Ricciardo was an emergency solution to replace him because they had no one else so quickly. They hope that he can do a reasonable job with that AT04. He is also good for marketing purposes at SAT.

You try driving a car described by Lando as follows, and let me know how many points you score:
"at its most problematic this meant having to “learn every single corner how to drive the car in a different way”.

you didnot read my post you just leapt to your own conclusion .all i said was pose a question that piatri being good does not make lando a bad driver same applies to yuki.superformula has big stick tires which make them very good around corners but they dont have the power of an f1 engine and they are light too.yuki is bad terrible and all that but non of his team mate have been faster than him non thats the only metric that matter real

Again ignoring Gasly comfortably beating Yuki in points and pace in their 2 years together?

pace at end of season together gasly was not faster.Alpha tauri play games just like ferrari.they deliberately gave yuki a slow pitstop just like in hungary .it looks like the give preferential treatment to redbull drivers .the strategy is always rubbish for yuki.

Well, according to you McLarens car was no good, Norris is no good, only Ricciardo is good!

Norris said last year that the car required a different driving behavior from the driver in every corner.
Norris was able to adjust his driving style accordingly, but Ricciardo could not.
A good driver can adapt to that. So can Max, Lewis, Lando and Alonso. Ricciardo is simply not a good driver.
That was way back in the day when the car was just that way so he could drive it well.

I'll leave it at that because you are such a huge Ricciardo fan that you are blind to reality.

That's complete BS, Lando is a superb driver, absolutely top shelf!

Norris however had the advantage of driving their cars for the last 5 years and has had time to adapt. Just look at him vs Piastri - Piastri is able to get the speed out of the car for 1 lap, but Norris destroys him over a race distance. Lando has developed his driving style around the badly flawed McLaren's so understands their flaws.

Look, we don't know how Daniel would go in the Red Bull, this year's, next year's, but it certainly looks like unless it's an easy car to drive fast, he won't manage it. Look at Checo, he won from almost last place in the pink car at Jeddah, yet in this year's Red Bull his ability to gel with the car has been patchy. Difficult cars are difficult for most drivers to tame, it doesn't bode well for Daniel to try matching him with a car that has been notoriously difficult for Gasly, Albon, and Perez.

Likewise we don't know the thinking in the minds of Horner and Marko, their driver choices have, even in retrospect, seemed in the main, bizarre and unsuccessful. Max has been their cornerstone since he got on terms with Daniel and Daniel was given unofficial number two status. Only on rare occasions have teammates of Max been able to do anything like what he can, and regularly does do. Because the cars develop in a way Max can extract tremendous pace, which means an extreme balancing act.

Lawson has been passed over by Red Bull for an AT spot enough times, including after proving he can be instantly on it, that it seems they have other ideas of what a Red Bull driver is and isn't. It also seems that most F1 insiders find it bizarre that the "other rookie sensation" of 2023 can't find a drive in spite of some pretty mediocre and ageing talent.
