Wow Leclerc almost dropped it

So Ferrari have used a soft, hard and medium set?
yeah, mediums and softs within a couple of minutes, and Leclerc improved by 4 tenths from one to the other.

Alonso was half a second behind Verstappen on mediums, McLaren 1s behind on hards. So both those times look fairly competitive, I'd say. It's probably more or less equal to the tyre difference.

I question the fuel loads though. Verstappen didn't go purple in S2/S3 even though the car looked quite good on the lap.

Had a lot of traffic in S2 iirc

Lec only improved by 0.2s from medium to soft. Clearly he didn't have a good lap.

Anyway, McL seems super fast but hard to understand anything in these conditions. Quali is going to be a mess with all that evolution.

I think it will be very strange. As others have said we won't know for sure anything until the final q3 runs

yeah, you're right, I missed Leclerc's better lap when scrolling through the numbers. And his best final sector came on mediums, so there definitely was room for improvement.

It has cooled down a lot more than I expected. Wind seems the bigger problem anyways.

Yes. Though less wind than prior to fp1

Yeah Verstappen's RB looks absolutely beautifully balanced on this first run. He got held up by a Ferrari and a Merc though.
