McLaren garage was kind of subdued after qualifying, probably adds some sting to what might have been yesterday.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Plus it was only sprint and they "won" when Verstappen didn't pip them, but it was not super obvious immediately.

Now we need a good sprint race start and have one driver play shield to either Piastri or Norris depending who goes first. Max is gonna be very fast in the race but the car is closer than before. Perhaps if we can play the Carlos Sainz strategy creating a DRS train.

The time for the sprint race has arrived. Good luck to both of our drivers. May they do their best. If they beat Verstappen it's celebration day. If they don't it will still be a day to remember. If things go as intended then at worst they will be 2-3.

Argh. Come on Lando. You were on the clean side. What kind of start was that? Terrible start. You got to work on those starts.

Lando going backwards fast on the start and after. Oscar had a great start but is it going to be safety car?

Terrible start from Lando. He has to work on those starts but I suppose it can happen to anyone.

Both are normally good on starts, but he's on Mediums so it was a tough one, but Lando didn't have good traction away from the line nor through turn 1 with a wobble that let Max by. But he should get the Ferraris back later.

Oscar did a mistake also but its a long race. I dont think the softs are gonna hold much. These SC are helping the soft runners.

Cars a handful in the mediums. Softs look the better option.

At this stage, giving the deg I'm expecting those softs to drop off, but we've seen it before when they have made it work in the sprint.

Safety cars bring it away from the mediums and towards the softs a little.

They said, the side Lando was on had no grip, especially when on the mediums, even Max struggled at the start.

The softs should be dropping fast at some point in the final 7 laps maybe.

People starting on his side overtook him (Russell and Leclerc), he just had a bad start on what was already a tricky situation.

Actually Lando was on the clean side. He just had a very bad start. He has to work on those starts if he wants to be championship material. It's also a pity that Oscar made a racing mistake but it can happen to a rookie in his first year. The race is still long and the softs are gonna drop quickly (I'm hoping at least).

I think Norris left too much space to Verstappen in the second turn. He went wide. Anyway. The safety cars work in favour of soft tyres in two ways. They will probably last till the end and also those with mediums are easier targets at each restart.
