That was fun.

Lewis still had plenty of grip by the end of that race. Tomorrow will be interesting
Lewis was 1:27.968 at the end, compare that to Lando's last lap of 1:25.662.
Isn't that down to him having to overtake both Ferraris towards the end? He passed Sainz on the last lap

Lewis overtook somebody, Lando didn't

That's called racing vs running in free air. What's more important is that lewis's tires looked very good after the race.

This must have been from when he was behind the Ocon, hulkenberg, Perez train on that lap that they binned it.

Of course tires will look good, when you drive 2 to 3 seconds per lap slower throughout the race.

Generally speaking they look worse when you are racing and following closely because you are in dirty air and loose DF.

No way are the McLarens two seconds a lap faster than the Mercs, Lewis was right up people's gear boxes for the entire sprint right up until the last few concerns on the last lap after overtaking Sainz

Well, yeah, tis what happens to lap times when you are overtaking two cars on the final lap.

Watch how the car is handling in those corners. He had grip.

Norris was also fighting for positions all race..
point is, of course Mercedes are not 2 sec per lap slower than Mclaren, but you can't make any conclusions about tires, their relative wear and deg after such race, where Lewis drove so much slower than Lando and Max (both were driving behind other cars in dirty air as well), not just on one last lap, on all of the laps Lewis drove 2 - 3 seconds slower. How did his tires look after such effectively 8 laps race is completely irrelevant. And of course Russell was compromised with the tire choice, only thing we know he was better than Ferrari.

Norris so much faster in clean air than Piastri. Running less downforce I guess. Same for Ham and Russell.

Russell is running more downforce than Lewis isnt he? Wonder how that will play out in the race given George's softs lasted less than 10 racing laps. Even more interesting if the tyre age thing is brought in by Pirelli

343 was behind gasly (lap 17), 344 behind alonso the next lap. This "low" downforce setup hamilton on hamiltons car is working good. When other cars must start harvesting he's got enough to push trough those last 100-200m on main straight.

The part about Lewis v George is starting at 31:15
I must say Windsor' points are pretty convincing
