agreed, I hope they take any calculated risks with the strategy etc. if it costs us a podium no worries but we should be aiming for the stars with any real championship battle pretty much wrapped up.

Everyone started on used meds, his were more used than Landos, he then cooked the tyres defending a place and ended up losing several places. He should have ceded the place and looked after his tyres and instead he dropped back, rookie mistake.organic wrote: ↑22 Oct 2023, 01:45Yes Leclerc seemed to really drop off in pace at the end. Leclerc was one of the slowest cars on track towards the end of the GP. Not clear why as he started lapping slower than his teammate on cooked softs while he was driving mediumstrinidefender wrote: ↑22 Oct 2023, 01:24I missed the sprint. What happened to Piastri? The summary on Motorsport/autosport just said he fell back through the sprint.
It also said Norris went from 6.7 to 0.8 seconds behind Leclerc after getting by Sainz. Is our race pace that much better?
If you look at Norris relative to Hamilton while he was catching Leclerc, he only gained 1s over Hamilton. So I would say the pace looks good but this catching Leclerc was a bit flattering
No idea on piastri. It's possible he completely wrecked his tyres at the beginning but feels more like a problem with the car
Piastri had more used tyres and then killed them, Leclerc killed his tyres but we were in the same ballpark as the front 2, but slower than Max in general.trinidefender wrote: ↑22 Oct 2023, 01:24I missed the sprint. Stella said afterwards that his were 3 laps older. I had no idea until after the race either to be honest, but I don't think I'm losing my mind and he did say that. it was the post sprint interview on Sky.Harisudhan wrote: ↑22 Oct 2023, 02:10My bad then, must be a mistake from F1mwillems wrote: ↑22 Oct 2023, 02:09Stella said afterwards that his were 3 laps older. Don't think he explicitly said they were older than Landos, just that they were decently used compared to the cars around him. They both aborted laps at pretty much the same time in qualifying so I don't know how a 3 lap delta could have happened on any of the used mediums. I think Stella was perhaps referring to Perez and some of those other carsmwillems wrote: ↑22 Oct 2023, 02:14I had no idea until after the race either to be honest, but I don't think I'm losing my mind and he did say that. it was the post sprint interview on Sky.
Then perhaps I did lose my mine, it's 1:30am here. Decently used and that he started at a disadvantage or something like that?MCLvamos wrote: ↑22 Oct 2023, 02:18Don't think he explicitly said they were older than Landos, just that they were decently used compared to the cars around him. I am not sure where I can find the tyre info but I only saw on the official data channel where it mentioned 5 lap used during the race start.
Maybe it was and he'd cooked them in previous usage. You'd assume it was a set from the SQ1 or SQ2.Harisudhan wrote: ↑22 Oct 2023, 02:23I am not sure where I can find the tyre info but I only saw on the official data channel where it mentioned 5 lap used during the race start.
I reckon both used the same set from SQ2 but lando aborted his 2nd push lap on it after sector 1 but oscar pretty did a whole 2nd push lap and only aborted during sector 3. The SQ1 mediums were 7 lap used for both.mwillems wrote: ↑22 Oct 2023, 02:23Maybe it was and he'd cooked them in previous usage.
