Honestly, they gave it their best. Unfortunately the opportunity for a win came at a track which doesn't suit this car that much. They were losing too much on S3 and T11

Good race. Good fight. Felt we deserved more than P3 but that is life.

I think they could have tried to undercut Verstappen when Norris was within a second - but seeing how Norris tyres fell off I doubt it would have worked.
We are lucky that Ferrari didn't release Sainz earlier, otherwise we might have been fighting for P4.

Lando has 3rd just about covered it seems. Gave it a go, raced for a win rather than settle for a podium, and will be rewarded with one anyway.

Never expect Ferrari to make the correct call.

Normally our tyre handling is decent and better than Ferrari’s so setup must be a problem. :/

I’ll take a 3rd at a circuit that doesn’t suit Mclaren👍🏻

As I said before, I do think we should have run with more DF on this surface and this heat.

Yesterday surprised me but I was totally unaware it was cooler, which explains it a little.

The full tanks early on also cause the cars to slide and the tires to degrade, which isn't great. But we gave it an amazing go. I'll be honest and say we did better than I thought we would, I thought we'd finish 4th before the race.
Exactly why I said I'd be happy with 3rd, and anything more is a bonus. We were always in a big fight.

There is no problem really, just the slow corners are still a weakness for our car. It's definitely not as huge of a weakness as it used to be, but it's still there and hurt us.

Car was still better than Ferrari, and from Mercedes, only Lewis had a slight edge on race pace, which may have been less noticeable if we had the chance to run the same tire strategy, but the team committed to the hards. And honestly, since it was a sprint weekend, can't blame them for going for the safer option on a relatively high deg track.

Getting closer still, to be this close on a track that our car is ill suited for is excellent. If we can keep closing the gap, next year could be very exciting indeed.

Honestly surprised to see so many disappointed on social media. This was the maximum, shame we couldn't fight but honestly Lando outperformed what was really the 3rd fastest car this weekend and flattered the pace a bit. We will have another chance, I just so hope it is this year!

Good race. I'll take 3rd. All Mclaren needs to do now is outdevelop the rest at winter and we are gonna have a car that is gonna be dominant.

We needed a perfect race - it almost was. He took P1 in T1, VER did not slice through immediately but it seems the mediums were a better tire in the race than hard. Both HAM and VER pulled away with the medium against McLaren.

Good pitstops.
Good racing, I just think Norris should defend harder like he did against Hamilton.

As someone already said - maybe the team should have put more downforce as others had more on - in a race like this it might have been critical.

Great to be unhappy with P3 on a track that is not perfect for McLaren. Let's go get that win until the end of the season.
