We should be pleased with that. I think everyone was getting g a bit carried away earlier today but we are getting closer.

We needed a perfect race - it almost was. He took P1 in T1, VER did not slice through immediately but it seems the mediums were a better tire in the race than hard. Both HAM and VER pulled away with the medium against McLaren.

Good pitstops.
Good racing, I just think Norris should defend harder like he did against Hamilton.

As someone already said - maybe the team should have put more downforce as others had more on - in a race like this it might have been critical.

Great to be unhappy with P3 on a track that is not perfect for McLaren. Let's go get that win until the end of the season.
Me, many times 🤣

Like I also said earlier, starting 2nd made us feel that the race was in our hands, but it wasn't.

Max was totally managing his tyres and just staying in the hunt.

The Ferrari was strange. 1 stint fast on the beginning than the tyres go down, last stint almost the best deg in the whole field. Looks fuel related.

Normally our tyre handling is decent and better than Ferrari’s so setup must be a problem. :/
As I said before, I do think we should have run with more DF on this surface and this heat.

Yesterday surprised me but I was totally unaware it was cooler, which explains it a little.

The full tanks early on also cause the cars to slide and the tires to degrade, which isn't great. But we gave it an amazing go. I'll be honest and say we did better than I thought we would, I thought we'd finish 4th before the race.
Exactly why I said I'd be happy with 3rd, and anything more is a bonus. We were always in a big fight.

I disagree. I don't think Max was managing that much - he was fighting for it throughout. We might have had a better chance with two mediums.

Btw P4 in the team championship.

What to expect in Mexico?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Why would he manage tyres only to undercut HAM and NOR in stint 1?

All of them are managing tyres, doesn't mean he had huge amount of pace. If he had they would have used it before the pitstop.

Interlagos is the real opportunity. Maybe more than any other track.

Norris being 3rd here is very unexpected.
