I think its all pretty obvious, Lando has even pretty damn good in qualifying, especially since Austria. Mistakes and errors can happen.

Not sure it's anything to do with pressure, though it's nice to have the other car performing!

Let's not forget that both drivers describe this car as difficult to drive fast, so for me personally I can forgive the mistakes as long as there are points at the end of the day.

Look I'm not saying that we can match Max Verstappen's Red Bull yet but the car should have enough speed to beat Perez. You can't deny that. 2 Tenths is not a huge difference.
.25 here is not a small margin, it's a reasonable gap, probably close to half a second elsewhere.

What frustrates is that this car should be able to easily advance to Q2, even doing an conservative lap. You don't need to be on knife edge.

Here he made two mistakes (medium lap and first soft lap).

In a few previous races he lost multiple fast laps due to track limits. It's starting to affect his qualifying results.

0.25 to a GP that shouldn't suit Mclaren. If Mclaren was able to outdevelop Red Bull by more than a second with the outdated facilities they should do wonders with the new facilities. Next year they should take the championship fight to Red Bull. I don't see why we should pretend every single race that Red Bull is hiding magically pace all the time and that Mclaren being close is fake.

I'm really hoping Oscar surprises me here.

I would sort of expect a top 4 for Lando. I dont quite have the same expectations for Oscar yet.

Possible penalties for verstappen, russell, hamilton mean pole is still very attainable

Everyone can have their own opinions, it's fine. People can say it's OK, or not OK based on their perspective.

But in a title season, which we believe is very close, these mistakes make the difference, They aren't just over the past few races, there have a few throughout the season. But obviously now Oscar is getting better in the car it is more noticeable even with the smaller mistakes, which wasn't the case before. Today is a different kettle of fish though, just a big blunder.

What a crazy qualifying. Where is the Ferrari pace coming from? Same for Ricciardo.

Paistri had a good S1 but seemed to cook his tyres by the end of it. He needs to adapt.

Haha...with this P8 for the moment we need 7 penalty to have pole 😂😂😂 Sorry to say for some of McL fans from here..but Oscar is not at Lando's level for the moment. Lando is making some mistakes but is McL driver no 1.

Not sure anyone seriously thinks Oscar is at Landos level yet. But, he has potential. But, notva great q3.
