Another Q ballsedup. Russell just looks slow, and Hamilton is a magnet for penalties. Meh

Looks like a small window to get the best of those S. Final run Q2 - first run Q3, outside of that period & we lost pace; Ferraris too
Team ANTI-HYPE. Prove it, then I’ll anoint you.

Track temp was a big part of it i think. At the start of the session it was 46.2C, at the end it was 40.8C!

I feel like Merc will be stronger tomorrow but unfortunately it will be chasing Max home once he passes the Ferraris
Merc is again a bit slow on the straights (lacking 5km/h to RB/Ferrari with DRS open). It will not be easy to pass anyone.

I think Ferrari will be on trouble with deg tomorrow as it will be a lot hotter in the race than it was at the end of Q3, dropped by 6 degrees and seemingly allowed Ferrari to hold onto their tires more and Merc saying their tires were too cold on their final push seems to add to that. So Merc will have to use that to their advantage tomorrow

I suspect Ferrari is going to be better off than what RB and Mercedes are hoping for.

We'll see but Ferrari were struggling all weekend and iirc they have the 4 best race pace. They were nowhere the entire weekend and only came alive when the temps dropped big.

Especially also since the last few corners before the strait are low-speed corners. Ferrari is also okay there, so setting up for an overtake isn't gonna be easy.

5kph disadvantage with drs is insignificant for the following car unless in a drs train I would think. There was a similar deficit at cota and Lewis passed both Ferraris easily on same age tires and on a much shorter straight. I mean that Mexico straight is so long…
The more concerning thing is with the trailing cars being able to follow lap after lap with overheating brakes and engines. I guess you either try to pass quickly or you back off. So sounds like a boring race coming up.

Hamilton will probably try it, I can see on the other hand Russell trying an aggressive start on the Soft
