Cheeky start on Hards? What say you.
Hamilton will probably try it, I can see on the other hand Russell trying an aggressive start on the Soft
I thought they wouldn't pit the drivers against one another on strategy because of Qatar.

You are right, Verstappen with 2 new hards and virtually no tyre deg isn't optimal

RB are experiencing high deg here too, Max said in post quali that he had no tires left in the last sector

I think they fixed their deg problems. In the long runs they had no deg at all

He said he was still sliding around in the middle sector and when asked about their pace he said its "good" and that maybe two hards might be an advantage. They probably still have the best deg out of everyone but they're for sure experiencing it

I watched the onboard of Max on his final Quali lap and it looked very un-easy through the middle sector.

Apologies for the continued RB discussion in the Merc nest.

Hmmm since Hamilton doesn’t have a fresher Hard I think this red flag will be a problem against Ferrari

He has a scrubbed set of Medium IIRC ? Would be better for the restart furthermore

They should put him on the used medium. He said the tires were still good when he pitted. Merc just wanted to undercut. So the medium should be able to do 36 laps on lighter fuel.
