If this is the case with cold Sunday, maybe it will play in Ferrari's hand..

Thermal degradation is not necessarily an issue. It's more about (tyre) wear.

Looks like another Ferrari pole going by the colder temps in qualifying. Fabrega's predictions for the top 4 seem pretty reasonable too.

It's a sprint weekend, so (race) qualifying is on Friday. And Ferrari is likely to take engine penalties, according to what Duchessa reported last weekend.

Maybe Verstappen as well? Haven't read anything about it, but the team added a 5th unit for Perez when they could do so "for free" in Qatar, while teams like McLaren, Aston and Haas didn't do so recently. So it could be an indication at least, that Red Bull prefers to have another one.

Max got in Japan his 4th complete PU. This is about the ICE's.

yeah, this is "my" table, so I know he did. Same as Perez, and they still added another one for him.

But whether they did no because it can't hurt, or because they plan to use 5 anyway - no idea.

no Problem.

What I forgot about: Perez had those CE issues early in the season, so although it didn't come with an ICE change, it's not quite the same situation as for Verstappen. Maybe he needed another one of those anyway.
