Not really much. It was pure luck for the wind to change so quickly like that. Nobody can easily predict the weather on pin point accuracy.

I don't think the team did anything wrong. Yes they were out last but the wind is what screwed the car in the last part.
You just explained what they did wrong, should have been first in the queue
I can sort of understand both points of view. I almost understand why they didn't predict the wind would pick up quite like that. The drivers talking about how weird it was. Going earlier would have been safe, but I don't think anyone expected that kind of ending.
Seems like all the other teams knew though  not massively disappointed we have a very good race car, tomorrow has the opportunity to bring us another good result

What a change made Pirelli request to FIA for cleaning the track. 15 min delay brought the storm into Quali window. Offf...McLaren had the pace at least for a P2 for Lando.

Nobody knew how the weather would go. It was just pure luck. Stop blaming the team.

Maybe  I'm inclined to give a little benefit of the doubt that the wind took everyone by surprise, but it is still on the team.

Dude, people have different opinion,s if we can't express them there's no point coming here. Stop telling people what opinions they are allowed to hold, nobody should police a Forum based on whether it aligns with their own equally subjective opinion. It's bad enough if you have an opinion about someones darling driver.

They went for the optimum way to get the best position. And got caught out.

We've had people complain the team have been safe, if not safe it brings in risks.

I was driving and they said risk of rain 7 minutes, that dropped pretty quickly though. That's weather for you.

Exactly. On another note. The Red Flag stopped the session with 4 mins to go. What happens now? Are they gonna finish it or just go as it is?

Yep. Dont blame them. Good job dialling in car setup with the limited time, should see a good weekend overall hopefully

Edit: Red Bull were first and last out so they clearly weren't totally sure either

"Session will not be restarted" says it all, positions as they are, no more running today and looking at the track is the right call

It's a pity though. We havent goten a second pole yet by pure chance. But on Sunday we have the chance to pass both Ferrari's and both Astons and probably both Mercedes.

Again, I'm not that fussed. Still good to see the car performing well.
