Anybody notice in Lando's interview earlier that hbehind the smile he looked distraught, close to tears?

Again, I'm not that fussed. Still good to see the car performing well.
3 out of 4 last qualis Lando is starting out of position while not being under much pressure really.
Gets me worried how the results would look like if McLaren would be (hopefully) in fight for something big.
But like I said, I'm just soo frustrated :D car is good
This isn't on the drivers though, but yeah, in a big season these kinds of calls can make the difference. They wanted glory and it didn't work out but I don't think the team would take such a risk in a title season. But by and large the pitwall has done well this year, last week being rather good indeed. Other than being oblivious to being overtaken in the rain ( ), I don't thing this is a regular issue and not something to worry about.
I think they wanted first and second. Went for that. 3rd and 4th, is not really much better than 7th.

I'd rather be 1st or 2nd. And, I'd rather the team attempt 1st or 2nd.

I prefer a balanced approach to be honest, to maximise points. Not a fan of putting all the chips in. In a drag race on pure rear traction and with the drivers we have, we can do a job at the first corner even from 3rd and against these cars. Car has no issue with traction when the nose is firmly in the right direction. In fact it's damn fast.

And again, the same words from Lando, the car was great, we could have fought for the front row, but I screwed up. The worst thing is that starting from these positions is always a risk of an accident, and even if you have a good racing speed, you can always be removed by some Magnussen. We should not miss such opportunities.

Yeah I need to watch again, it's hard pressed to put this on Lando. Where was he in relation to Leclerc, I know he was behind a Ferrari.

In reality, wherever we start the fight is for second place. So, if trying for pole is worth it, give it a go. Nothing much to lose.

He ran wide in t12. Whether it was the wind or a mistake I don't know.

Did someone say everyone behind him went slower? If so, I'm guessing turn 12 was when the weather hit.

I'm not sure, I think with a few more chances to challenge max over the past few races we could have got a result, but we won't know. Even here I think we can challenge Max on pure race pace.
