Oscar's lap was already pretty bad, missing apexes left and right before T12 and going off, so I think it's likely the wind. I would not think drivers screwed up this time.

Anybody notice in Lando's interview earlier that hbehind the smile he looked distraught, close to tears?
I actually think he was kinda crying here, sad

How did he screw up?
He ran wide in t12. Whether it was the wind or a mistake I don't know.
Did someone say everyone behind him went slower? If so, I'm guessing turn 12 was when the weather hit.
Lando was 7 seconds behind Leclerc, and everyone after was a lot slower, although Sainz had a slightly better S3. I think there was no grip in turn 12, with his engineer telling him it was very slippery. He lifted while he was asking to box, but the team told him to continue.

I prefer a balanced approach to be honest, to maximise points. Not a fan of putting all the chips in. In a drag race on pure rear traction and with the drivers we have, we can do a job at the first corner even from 3rd.
In reality, wherever we start the fight is for second place. So, if trying for pole is worth it, give it a go. Nothing much to lose.
I'm not sure, I think with a few more chances to challenge max over the past few races we could have got a result, but we won't know. Even here I think we can challenge Max on pure race pace.
I honestly admire you're optimism.

Nah, this car is damn fast, we just haven't put the whole weekend together enough yet, but we will continue to be good at the remaining races.

I personally don't think you can say this is on him, but it seems like he has taken it hard and very personally.

Yeah they rarely put a foot wrong - a sign of their greatness, but it will come.

Everyone after was slower because: Sainz made a mistake in s2, Piastri in t12, Perez had to lift due to Piastri. So I am not sure you can fully blame this on the weather. I think Perez would have made it to p3 without the yellow. flag.

Maybe. Norris was up on Leclerc after S2 so it is not black and white, if the wind had changed direction one second later maybe he'd be P3.

I'd love to see Norris onboard and see what happened.

Anither huge miss.. poor Lando…

I didnt expect anything from the race. Battling the crowd is a gamble…

Honestly doesn't seem like he made a mistake, I think he caught wind during t12. Also I didn't see him saying it was his mistake in any interview? I'll be the first one to call him out, but it did seem to be on the weather

So frustrating. At least you can overtake here though. Lando can still challenge from P7 and secure a podium finish. I'm normally a realist when it comes to predictions, but is a race win really out of reach? I'm actually not so sure.

Absolutely pinned down to weather. Anyone blaming drivers need a head shake.

He didnt say "I screwed up" as _cerber1 claims. Never said those words. Just annoyed at the whole situation and mainly saying how good the car was

edit: Just rewatched and he even said "disappointed but not a lot we could have done"

He did say that in an interview to be fair. It was obviously very tricky by that point though. I'd love to see an onboard to be totally sure.
