How much do you think Lando lost with that mistake?

He lost about 2 tenths compared to Piastri. So I'd say about that.

He probably lost 1.5 tenths, or even more, since thats how much slower than Oscar he was in S1. And Oscar had used tires.

And a shame for Oscar to be honest, he was outstanding, but he lost a lot with a slide out of the last corner. That f*cks up the whole last sector so a good effort from his side. Splitting the Mercedes was probably possible with a perfect lap.

I think this proves it that Lando was able to get pole. He would have been easily clear of Verstappen without that massive slide in S1.

The speed in the car is there, Lando is fast, we can get a win (SPRINT) ....

This result makes yesterday even harder to bear..... DAM IT!

the car must be crazy quick in the last sector - which must bode well for over taking in the GP

I know Lando is very self-critical of his laps, but that was actually a pretty poor lap having seen the onboard. Easily 2-4 tenths in it. We have a VERY quick car, bodes very well for tomorrow.

Okay, just looked at the lap. He had a massive moment out of T2, it's probably more than 2 tenths lost through there. Could have had >=0.3s margin over the RedBull today.

Lando was on fire.

Lando smmoned to stewards
Lando Norris's P1 is not safe. Summoned by stewards in 45 minutes for slow time between SC lines

Lando after setting his lap said "Why am I so --- at qualifying". He felt the lap was bad.

I think Oscar did not have a new soft - could be why his lap suffered in later sector.s
And that it why, you ignore what he says when looming for mistakes.

I'd be very surprised if they penalise him. Many have got away with that over the last few weeks.

It's for being slow over the two safety car lines. Nobody has ever gotten a penalty because of that this season.

I think we are relatively safe.

yeah it was pretty big mistake in S1 and still P1, should've could've would've
I thought I saw quite a lot of cars on used softs, so Oscar did not have the best lap (mistake in t12) to end up p10

People have gotten away with it previously because there was no way to build a gap. But there is now provision within the pitlane rules such that there is no need to drive slowly between SC lines now.. so maybe not safe
