Shame. Thought it was worth a shot. Oscar could maybe have tried to delay him slightly too

Gives Lando the chance to take fastest lap and an extra point.

This is an interesting time. Safety car or a red flag would give us track position.

Low risk in trying to keep it one stop. Alonso is very far away.
Yep, it's a good point.
Really don't get the decision they made. Alonso was 10 seconds behind pit window.
Not sure why but these used tyres are really working. Max maybe be saving his tyres and getting ready for his fast lap for the point, let's see what his fastest lap is in a few laps time

I think it was a mistake not to go for 1 pit stop.

I'll be interested to see what they say about these tyres, because if this is genuine pace and Max can't keep up with Landos pace then this is another race where used, cured and scrubbed tyres have performed much better than expected.

The team is very risk averse, this has been obvious for a long time.

In my opinion a win would mean much more then another P2. Verstappen was faster but he still needed to catch 9 seconds and he needed to make an overtake. By staying out you put him under pressure as he needs to catch you and overtake.

I would have monitored the gap to Alonso and when he is close to being in our pit window I would pit. But even that may not be necessary as Norris will have much better pace on a soft late in the race than Alonso will be able to have.

VER had two new sets before the race. Norris 1.

Not sure what tires VER used at start/restart.

Yeah Max put on a new set, stunning pace from Lando right now, but I think Max has it covered

Yeah I suspect Max is managing this right now, even by being slower, but part of me is waiting to see some evidence of it lol I think it is the optimistic part.

Max probably saving tires and fuel to get the fastest lap at the end.

Team trying to get Piastri to stay ahead of VER as long as possible.

Yeah I think so, and Lando might just be going all out because why not.

Max had this covered tbf. And with Aston in 3/5 then it's important for the team to not risk anything.

Still though in a few laps Lando got 5 seconds from Verstappen. It makes me wonder why the team aren't taking more risks. Why not let him finish with the mediums. It's one thing for Verstappen to reach him and another to pass him.

Yeah the gap has stabilised. Anyone know what are Max and Landos lap times now compared to 3 laps ago?

Apparently Stella has said that Lando is just "completing the job now" as everything that Lando does, Max has an answer.

Piastri is also still carrying damage.
