There’s one.

Worst combined performance weekend of the season? Maybe Austria?

Considering it was a track even they expected to be one of their best performances, then telling people it would be crazy to give up their grid positions to change setup and start from the pitlane, then ending up p8 and dnf, getting breezed passed on the straights by midfield cars and then them pulling out of Drs range in two corners, this has to be the worse. I don't know why Merc is so stubborn sometimes, idk how the team looked at their sprint race pace and thought all they needed to do was just manage tires better

What's the talk of new floor, improved performance and all that? From the high of winning both sprint and race 12 months ago, to having one of the worst weekends of the season, the roller coaster ride couldn't be more disappointing than this. How can the straight line speed be so horrible?

Their strategy talks on radio resembled the Ferrari! Clueless.

This wasnt the fault of the floor upgrade itself but setup issue. Merc were way too cautious with raising the car too high to avoid DSQ, lost tons of downforce and then they have their barn door of a high downforce wing that slowed them down in the straights. This is why I don't understand why they didn't just change the setup

They need to improve on their setup right from the Get go but still, the shambolick Sprint race regulation that locked them in after FP1 is really terrible for everybody

They will end up fighting with the AT for P8
Excellent prediction! The car was a little less competitive than normal, but not all that bad. Still a solid top 10-12 car, taking home a decent P8 result. Very much midfield to upper-midfield still, so doing quite decently.

Thankfully, it’s nearly time to put this car in the bin
The car is not that bad at all. Not only a superb P2 in the WCC, but also a car that is regularly in the top half of the field.

There's no "one big bit" just lots of little bits! Keep chipping away to add performance. :)

Are you speculating or? Might very well be the reason.

Anyway next debrief video should be fun.

To me it seemed like a setup issue as well. It's a sprint and they were likely conservative after the issues at COTA

I think its too harsh to the team to question their development upto now based on this off-weekend. Chalk it up to sprint setup issues and move on to the next one. Last year it was RB with a bad setup this year its Merc, just have to hope that they learn to get better setups for sprint weekends.

Toto said they got the balance of the car wrong after the sprint, shovlin said they know they've got what they've got.in terms of setup but will use the tools available to them under parc ferme to manage tires, in an interview Toto just did he said everything they did to the car was horrible and this

for a car to go from constantly being right up there with McLaren to being slower than an alpine, and by a lot in one weekend, that happens to be a sprint race is them getting their setup horribly wrong and for some reason deciding not to do anything about it
