Having a quick car is important to win the race, but to do it 17 times this season without mistake is just absolutely brilliant. This guy is driving at a totally different level at the moment, and RB19 is just the perfect equipment he needs to showcase his talents and commitment to racing, and vice versa. I would imagine the motivation and confidence within the team must be superb at the moment and this should very well carry over to 2024 season.

Vegas will be challenging. That circuit will probably have no deg and Ferrari will be flying with their Monza spec. It will be impossible to be a 1 second gap with all the slip streaming. Norris will be there somehow, as well.

I don't know about Ferrari at Vegas. It will require efficiency sure, but with the low temps a super skinny wing might not work.

Since Barcelona upgrade that fixed their overheating rears, Ferrari have struggled on many occasions to heat their tyres up, especially the fronts. So I'm not sure if they'll be a major concern at Vegas with the v low temps

Furthermore the low temps might push other teams to use higher df which would play into RB's hands as their lowest df configuration is a bit higher

Amazing the F1 TV director failed again when Max breaks a record.
This time he ´forgot´ to capitalize on the fact Ascari´s 52 year old record got broken by Max: "Highest win % in a single season".
That is a major PR failure for F1...and even f1.com seems to be silent on this very small detail....

In the end the gap was a bit smaller than it should've been. Max took his final soft stint pretty easy

I doesn't matter how big the gap is you win with, it does matter how much tyre is left at a potential SC restart. It is all about covering all bases.

True. And in this case they really wanted the win to be safe, highest win percentage ever. They even went for the (second) undercut to not allow Lando to get close. McL stayed out for a couple more laps, you never know if a VSC comes out.

Well, the undercut was unintentional. RB actually believed Norris was going to the end on the medium, GP mentioned it literally on the radio. GP instructed Verstappen also to eas into the tyre, as he would need them to overtake later in the stint.

Max and GP are immensely well spoken and they are most certainly reading from the same page, same lines all the time. Such a incredible bond.

Got the feeling that Max is also very intelligent, especially on technical subjects. These two are in a just simply acting as one without even thinking about it.

Horner details Ricciardo's departure in 2018: 'Stop the nonsense'

Daniel Ricciardo - now back in the Red Bull family - left Red Bull Racing after the 2018 season to join Renault's team.'The Honey Badger' had the opportunity to re-sign with the Austrian formation on good terms, but he still opted to leave. Christian Horner talks about how things went five years ago in the 'eff won with DRS' podcast.

"He [Ricciardo] suddenly felt that, hang on, I don't want to be the support act. And I could tell he was starting to think of giving up the position at the time. He got a lot of noise in his ear at this time," Horner said. "I remember I spoke to our owner [Dietrich Mateschitz] before the Austrian Grand Prix I said, look, he's talking a big margin (between Verstappen's new salary and Ricciardo's current salary).
I think if you could just balance things out, just let him know that you want him."

Mateschitz was willing to offer Ricciardo the same deal as Verstappen. "his agent was, oh, it's fine. That was for two years," Horner said.
"Then we went off to Germany to the race. His engine blew up because the big issue was the engine at that time. The engine kept letting him down. Then from there, we went to Hungary. We bought all the paperwork and put it out. Then his manager came to me and said, 'Daniel is really nervous about the engine situation because we were going to change to Honda. He'll do one year'."

That fell hard on Red Bull for a while, but Horner was willing to cooperate.
"I went back to the Dietrich. He said, look, it's about relationships. It's not about contracts. If he wants a year, give him a year.
So at this point, he's got everything he needed. Everything he needed."

After a test after the end of the Hungarian GP, they were supposed to sign, but that signature failed to materialise. Horner smelt danger.
"I would have thought he'd be in a rush to sign this contract. He didn't sign it before he got in the car in the morning. Then he's going to sign it at lunchtime. That didn't happen. And then he had to get out of the car and go straight to the airport."

"I'm smelling a rat. So he rings me. And I was in the car. I was very confused. He said, I've just got off the plane. I've arrived. I've been thinking all flight over here. And I'm not going to sign the contract. I'm going to take another contract. I was like, what? OK, you've got a Mercedes deal? Ferrari have come through or something? And he went, no, I'm going to sign for Renault," the Red Bull team boss was surprised.

"[He's going to] the engine that's just let him down for the last two years. I was convinced he was taking the piss because Daniel, he's got a sense of humour. I was like, come on. There's no way, stop f****** about. But no, that didn't happen."
Ricciardo left for the French team.

That choice to go to Renault, I bet it left question marks with many people even outside of rbr.
