I just looked at a few weather sites. Around 21 C degrees during the day all week and 9 - 10 C degrees at night!
I just saw that the FP2 and qualifying is there at 12:00 AM at night!
Why actually? Why not just during the day?

Driving a racecar on a street circuit when it is 10 C degrees!
It's just daft and pathetic, not thought out and just money orientated. I can see it being a cluster*uck.

I doubt many in the UK or Europe is going to watch it live as it is at 6am in the morning. Being that late in the US who is watching it live? Two hours ahead on the East coast.

At least if they put it on early evening the US would be watching it live.

Yeah, giving this a miss. F1 just the sideshow. Intro’s and build up will be unbearable. Can envisage many SC’s, purely for drama on Vegas’ debut

I'll happily wake up early to catch a race because it means I get the rest of the day to do whatever I want. But I think this is going to be a proper --- show. Very cold temps will means cars struggle to keep tyres in their operating window.

I guess most personnel have flown back to EU given its a 2 week gap till the next racrr After las vegas they will fly out to Abudhabi (which I believe is a bit on EU time) straight after the race, but I guess all their tiredness etc is over powered by the end of the season and personnel getting back home before xmas and engineers working at their offices over winter+ Xmas feeling around the corner.

Personally I feel F1 should have a 2 day weekend with double/triple headers

It is perfectly fine for me (gmt+2). Qualy at 10am and race at 8am.

Same here but the track temperature seems bad.
Anyone remember a race with 10c in the Pirelly years? I don't really.

Hmmm...during Covid Season 2020 there was a quite cold race in Imola, right?
Also testing in this year in Barcelona in February was very cold. But I do not find the actual temps and quotes how it resulted.

I found this Februari 2022. But I think testing is something else as qualifying and race the GP.
.
All three days of this week's opening Formula 1 pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya are set to be held in dry conditions.

Wednesday's running, which begins at 09:00 local time, will begin with clear blue skies and an air temperature of 10 degrees Celcius.
This will climb by around five degrees as the day goes on, with track action coming to a close at 18:00 local time.
What about the rest of the week?

Chilly but sunny conditions are set to continue through the week, with no rain currently forecast for the three days of testing.

Thursday is set to start with the air temperature at 10 degrees Celcius, before rising to 15 degrees at midday,
and gradually dropping back down through the afternoon. It will be a similar story on Friday, albeit a couple of degrees cooler.

Imola 2021, yeah, air 10°C, track 17°C. Nürburgring 2020 was equally cold (air 9°C, track 16°C)

They would have both been with the old 13inch wheels

Anybody know if the new 18 inch wheels will they be easier or harder to warm up and if they’ll hold the heat better or worst?

I would imagine that less sidewall flex reduces the ability to generate heat in the tire. It also just generally makes the tire have less grip because the tire is stiffer. More sliding and more case overheating as opposed to tire bulk warming.
