Both statements can be true. The straight can be long (it is) and the DRS be much less effective with the skinny rear wings this track will likely see. Monza has the exact same issue, with it being notoriously tough to overtake despite the long straights.
That isn’t a broken weld. That’s a complete failure of the casing and took a chunk of asphalt with it.
The more reason why they should've tested their asphalt and welds. They literally poured the topping at the last minute... meanwhile they spent more time overhyping this Monaco wannabe race.
