Max will definitely tell you exactly what he’s thinking. Not some PR speech. It actually works quite well, as you often see a lot of short clips or phrases quoted from his interviews.
They are usually mostly funny. A bit like Kimi was with the media back in the day.
Max has a kimi like no-nonsense attitude but contrary to Kimi Max can actually speak more words than "yes", "no" and "bwoah", and is not completely stoic and emotionless. Kimi was just boring and grumpy, I don't understand what people's obsession was with him after he came back to F1.

Wish Max could turn down the excessive bluntness and negativity a bit.
Quite the opposite imo. I'm glad there're at least a few drivers with large enough cojones to say what they think.

Yes we want more mediatrained 'yes-man' with fake smiles to make us believe it is all positive.

Be glad there is a driver that says what he actually thinks, instead of, basically, lying to everyone's face because it is considered polite or to lick everyone's a**e.

He is Dutch and we are direct. It works better on the long term than beating around the bush all the time trying to keep everyone happy.

There is also the cultural difference though. What is direct in Dutch could be anything from rude to an outright insult in other cultures.

I predict that Perez will be quite good in Las Vegas. He has returned to more normal braking patterns. I remember that he couldn't brake to save his life in Monza, but was going very deep in Brazil so I think they figured something out.

LAS VEGAS
To prepare for the slippery fresh tarmac of the the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Oracle Red Bull Racing's F1 driver duo of Max Verstappen
and Checo Perez take on Scuderia AlphaTauri's Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo in two seater hovercrafts!
The four Formula 1 pilots race their floating crafts through the Nevada Desert and complete two difficult skills challenges
before a head to head final race. Which team will be able to drift through the dust of alien country and successfully clinch the win? 👽 🏆

It was the first time that the drivers had raced these 13 feet, 26.5 horsepower hovercrafts which need good teamwork
and counter-steer to glide smoothly through the air at a top speed of 30mph.

Looks like Max even has a gurney flap on the rear for Fp1.

I don't see a gurney for Perez.

I'm not intending to contradict. I have not seen Max's car. It's possible that they are testing both setups.

Gotcha!

Horner said on Sky that in the limited running they did their tyres came up to temperature and everything was beginning to work

Long run looked strong. Quickest car so not a bogey track like Singapore and passing could be OK given they're running the untrimmed flap. Medium seems like the best race tyre
Max Verstappen: I think the soft over one lap is good, and over the long run the soft didn't last long then I went to the medium, but the long run looked better than others. Still have a bit of things to do to improve the race pace. So, not straight forward to decide tyres for the race.

It feels similar to Monza indeed with Ferrari faster on 1 lap race pace, but RB choosing a setup that protects tyres better. Question is if Max can qualify directly behinf Leclerc or whether Alonso, the Mercs, maybe even Albon will be ahead. That determines how easy it would be for him to get another win.

Max seemed to struggle on the softs. During the soft qualy laps he had difficulty in beating his own time in any of the minisectors in s3. Maybe he was on a lower engine mode after the medium running. He lost 0.3s to Perez I think in s3 and 0.5 to Alonso on his fastest.
