It sheered off the thing that it was welded too. Not sure if this type of failure happened before in F1.

Does seem it would be good to have cars similar to F1 run on the track before F1 comes. Maybe older gen cars?

They weren't allowed support races here. F1 only, because the roads had to be open as much as possible.

According to statement from F1 and Las Vegas Grand Prix Inc, "a single water valve cover on the Las Vegas Grand Prix circuit failed during the first practice session".

That goes against what the FIA has suggested to us so far that it was more than one issue noted #F1 #LasVegasGP

Broken chassis for Ocon suspected. Major issues for Carlos as well but not clear yet if they will change chassis. Probably.

With the budget cap being a very real thing, are damages caused by a flaw in the track refundable (I would suggest that this is one of ‘those issues’ that will be claimed to be unforeseen & that this has never been tested before?)

One failed (quite obviously) prompting the end of FP1.

Many could fail in a similar way so the fix may be a while.
