What an embarrassing event…

Thought I got lucky that my newborn woke me up at 6.30 in the morning to watch FP1 and it got cancelled! FP2 again delayed…what a joke!

No, actually quite the opposite.

the other way around:

A different example came in the same press conference when Mercedes boss Wolff started to dismiss a question about whether this was a “black eye” for F1, and claimed “nobody is going to talk about it tomorrow morning anymore”.

He was then interrupted by a comment from a different journalist in the room, who questioned how Wolff could say it was “nothing”.

That clearly upset Wolff, who called it “completely ridiculous” and asked “how can you even dare try to talk back about an event that sets new standards for everything?”.

“And then you’re speaking about a f***ing drain cover that’s been undone, that’s happened before, that’s nothing," Wolff said.

Problems with loose ironworks aren’t exactly unusual on street circuits, especially new street circuits.

yeah, even in Monaco it has caused crashes not too long ago, in 2010 and 2016. So it still shouldn't happen, of course, but it's nothing unusual indeed.

Yes, but how many street circuits have flooded the race calendar over the years?
Why aren’t lessons being learnt?

Exactly, 1 is understandable, twice is pushing it, but by now, F1 should should be aware of the potential and be making sure it doesn’t ******* happen. It’s a serious safety issue

Yeah, F1 is at fault contractors are simply going to do as they are told. How are they to know these things they dont usually build racing circuits.

This is on the consultants and the engineers and F1!

Correct.
I’m going to sound like a stuck record all weekend but Verstappen is right. It’s just a clown show

Especially since FIA inspected the track before FP1 and gave it's approval.

Does anyone have some information on how do they test those things?

This is sort of a first though. The concrete around the drain broke. Before we've had the metal piece just being sucked up, but this time the track surface gave out.
I'm just worried this is the start of many unforeseen bad events this weekend. I already know Sargeant will put it in the wall at least a few times, but who else will and will the track hold up?
