Clarkson started asking Fred about fp1, and then Fred raise concern over the incident, and then Tom tried to change the topic about that, Fred wasn't bothered about anything else. And then someone asked from the crowd if this incident is sort of black eye for F1 on which Toto started dramatizing which is interesting because when there were bouncing problems then it was a great risk for drivers health. But now suddenly, loose track surface which resulted in major damage on Sainz's car and could possibly have hurt him.. That is OK.. Lmao

How long until they change the regulation that will in future allow this kind of shithouse. What an idiocracy.... Isn't there option to apply for force of majeure?

No. This part of the sporting reg does not allow for force majeure or other clauses. Stewards cannot step in despite wanting to in this instance

"Having received a request [...] in order to allow a replacement of the Energy Store from outside the pool, without penalty" sounds like it was the only ES Sainz still had available. So yeah, that's a +10 penalty then - or more likely a back of the grid start, with a new unit, I guess.

I guess that they'll have a look at the regulations after the season to prevent something like this in the future

I'm expecting a BOTG start, but let's see. I want to see an engine tuned for 1 race, a la bottas monza 2021

Yeah sure... I would appreciate those kind of words but if it was one of his drivers, he would definitely scream all over the F1, FOM ... etc. the amount of the hypocrisy in that guy

yeah, but to be fair, often Friday engines are at the end of their life already, and only used in practice. So handing out new parts without penalty can also lead to an unfair advantage in the end.

Still, some kind of compromise needs to be found, I guess.

Quite bummed about the fans - some people bought only friday tickets (about 250 USD) and got 9 minutes of exploratory action and a bunch of waiting.

F1 should refund those fans - they are the organizer here so they need to eat the cost.

That's my point.. They run a nightrace with a short turnaround to when they need to reopen the track for traffic & can't keep staff around for long enough to have a contingency plan
