I'm assuming Max was on new softs just now, and he wasn't improving. So, no guarantee that new softs were a given to improve.

If we have pace, maybe we pit early as we did in a previous race, to "overtake in clear air".

Max's second run was not on new softs

It's not that obvious. We've been very good in slow corners recently. What we got here was a track where we couldn't dial the issues out of the car. A set of circumstances that we could not get around and couldn't move the issue to a more favourible place.
Well yes we became way better in slow corners but the weakness in still there and we still dont have a low df set up as good as the rest. I agree also that we botched it a little. Have in mind though that the team started the year with a botched bad base of a car and made band aid fixes to it bringing it as clear second force in many races. They seem to finally after so many years know what to do and I should expect a rocketship of a car next year ready to dominate as long as they repeat what they did this year in winter outdeveloping Red Bull.

Then my point is irrelevant. They should have swapped tyres then.

Its obvious the car has improved in all types of corners but the slow corners still are our weakness despite improving in them also. Its also obvious we are gonna struggle in straights as we dont have a proper low df set up like the rest. Hopefully everything will change next year.

It's a weakness that can be moved in some setups but not here is the point I make, it's a weakness that has a tendency to manifest itself more in low speed corners I think, rather than a weakness in low speed corners. But yes we do struggle with the low DF package, Zak also said this after the race.

tough day, Lando was blocked on one fast lap by Per, made a mistake on another fast lap attempt,
over the quali they consulted whether to pit or not, they both agreed to stay out,
towards the end Lando noted his front right is gone and aborted the last fast lap attempt,

I believe there was more to show today

Verstappen didn't have any new tires left. Only other choice was to use the new ones in the end instead of the beginning.

From Federico Albano. Perhaps McLaren looked towards the race after the graining was very bad yesterday in the long run

Unfortunately missed todays sessions... looks like it didn't go too well, hopefully everyone is reacting sensibly here, if not please look back to the last few races.

I don't think I need to do a deep dive into why.. I think its quite obvious as too why we are slow, and I am sure the team are doing there best to rectify some traits for next year.

Still a whole race ahead of us and anything can happen so don't lose all hope yet.

For such a small rear wing, their top speed is quite low.
