Tires left for the race (unconfirmed, based on my own notes):

No real idea what's going to be the best race tire, or who may have an advantage here - it may even vary from car to car, I guess. Based on the tires some teams scrubbed (or not), I'd assume McLaren plans to do a M-H strategy and Aston S-H, but that's about it.

Soft tires should normally be a massive advantage over the opening laps.

Alpine didn't take my advice: number 31 should ALWAYS drink a liter of linden blossom tea BEFORE each session.

Number 31 is always making friends on the racetrack.

Safety check about the above: How many friends does number 31 have among the other pilots?

The problem with the number 31 is that thinks he is better than everyone else. And that when it cannot be demonstrated creates inferiority complex. From there to permanent troubles there is not much distance.
Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.

What’s up with Hamilton, very lacklustre while Russell was right there.

I just read it was Perez’ own call to stay in in Q2. He wanted 2 sets for a shot at pole. A gambling man it seems. I guess Hamilton offered him a chance to do so but to me this isn’t smart.

The AmuS qualifying article (in German) quotes Russell as saying "The car felt good right from the start. We took some risks with the setup, and it paid off. Tomorrow I'd like to get on the podium. But points would be a surprise already."

Any idea if that is what he really said, or did something get lost in translation there?

May have under estimated the Williams.

That’s probably it, slim margins and then Williams playing their (good) cards right. Sorry for the gambling pun, wasn’t even intended.

Max/P2 is actually on the inside line here. So could be interesting for the run down to T1. Then again, you do have the side of track that hasnt been driven on at all I dont believe.

The tyres are a lottery, presume it has something to do with that

So Leclerc apparently said that his q2 lap was the best lap he had ever done in f1. Does anyone here have the onboard of that lap?

Not even an investigation for Perez blocking in qualifying, what the hell is going on with these stewards? Yet again red bull getting let off the hook, and even when the stewards recognise they make a mistake they still won't apply the penalty just like max on tsu earlier in the season.

This is an utter joke. F1 is tiresome to watch, it's a meme of itself.

I wasnt able to follow this weekend as closely, is mercedes running significantly less wing than RB?

Looks like it.
Seeing Mercedes gaining on the straights it's not what we've come to expect.

And because Red Bull isn't at home in the cold low grip tarmac they aren't gaining as much as you would expect in the corners.

It is not feeling slighted, but getting slighted. Ocon was destroying everyone’s lap there, his engineer even warned him not to go into the queue and still he did.

Max was banned from iracing for retaliation. Any sport has automatic ejection for retaliation.
Write a letter to the stewards.
A strongly worded letter perhaps, only way they will understand.

Max has disrupted peoples quick laps many times, it was only a few races back that he did it twice in an event and the stewards looked the other way.

F1 would be in a right state if all those that felt slighted started retaliating.
The part of this, when he does it, it’s fine, he get it happen to himself he starts crying.
