We need a safety car. Stay out until safety car.

LEC/VER could be spicy.

Those tyres should last for 20 laps?
Just switched on at the Safety Car. Looks too early for the Mediums. Great race by Piastri, sounds like there has been carnage! Early stop for Piastri?

Just needs to pound round the track now and make a gap.
He started on hards, got bumped in the corner with Hamilton - both got a puncture but Hamilton was much more unlucky as it deflated after pitstop line. Piastri didn't lose much.

He has great pace but he needs to stop once more - others are to the end. Unfortunate timing of last safety car.
Zhou is on Meds, so one to watch in terms of whether that strategy would have worked.

I had a look at the comments here, I need to watch the start as he seemed to make his way up to 7th like Moses parting the Red Sea before it all went wrong.

I think it depends on the delta to those around you, if they start being faster at a reasonable rate then protect the track position.

But right now he can just pound round the track.

Several of those behind have to pit again, I think, so the danger comes from further back, or am I mistaken?

You want to stretch it out… But, you also need enough laps to make positions… delaying it too much is dangerous… But, we had a race car today… Guess we don’t know as much as we think we do, lol

I tend to agree, I feel like the time is now looking at the times of those around, but I don't think there's a great outcome either way.

Some update on Lando, he is now at University Medical Center for further investigation. My fear is that McLaren didn't change Lando's engine in Mexico or here and it will be forced to do it in Abu Dhabi. And instead to fight for podium/victory there Lando will start last. Hope not to be the case.

Piastri is losing a lot of time to guys in front… Why not pit him… it’s not like he can finish the race in this set of tires :(

What makes you suggest that? What's been seen?
