Language issue: what are hip-radiators (Lotus 72)?

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Another interesting development was that F1 had intended for Turbos to be banned in 1988. But somehow it was overruled and instead, they attempted to reduce the Boost and fuel limits of the turbos in the hope of making them uncompetitive. This led to Ferrari continuing with the 1987 turbo car rather than racing the 639.
In 1988 FERRARI did not continue with the 1987 turbo car. In 1988 FERRARI raced their new and updated F1/78/88C updated to conform to the new regulations, it futured new front and rear wings and a lower engine cover that is besides the modified new engine tipo 033A also plus the type 638 6-speed manual gearbox. 5 race cars were build for 1988 season, two were modified F1/78 to 1988 specification and three new for 1988 specification cars.

The Ferrari was a further development of the previous year's car, the Ferrari F1/87 . In favor of the rule change for 1989, Ferrari decided against a complex new development and only adapted the F1/87 to the modified rules for 1988.

Yes. "The (1988 -F1/87/88C) FERRARI was further development of the previous year's car (1987 - F1/87)". That is why in 1988 FERRARI raced the F1/87/88C and not the F1/87.

Michele Alboreto never tested the 639.

The '639' was tested by 3 drivers, Benuzzi, Moreno and Berger. A week just before the Australian GP Moreno tested the '639' at Fiorano. In 1988 Spain GP Berger was the only driver to use a turbo car, for tyre tests.

The back than so called "strange car" - the F1/87/88C with atmospheric V-12 engine but with chassis and gearbox the same as used on the standard turbo car (6-manual speeds), of course it was longer (distance between wheels) by 20/25mm, Autosprint called it ''F1/88A'' ''IBRIDO' (HYBRID). But it was an UNOFFICIAL name. It was first used during test at Fiorano in October 1988. Fiorano October 1988. - Berger - FERRARI 639 - best lap ---------. Morano - FERRARI F1/88A - ''IBRIDO'' - best lap 1' 12''10. Moreno - FERRARI 639 - best lap 1' 11''04. Moreno - FERRARI F1/87/88C turbo - best lap 1' 11''5. Moreno - FERRARI F1/88A ''IBRIDO'' did 14 laps on Thursday and 22 laps on Friday, a total 36 laps - 114km when he broke the engine.
