So now drivers can crawl through the tunnel extremely slowly as they're now entitled to do by the rules to build a gap, but overtaking is also not permitted.. so if you're at the back of the queue you're in the situation of being stuck again... How's this a good solution?

It has always been allowed to overtake in the pitlane exit but usually is not feasible. In Brazil they said that if you want to drive slowly enough to build a gap then you pull to the left. This meant there is a gap to the right for others to overtake if they want and hence we saw lots of that.

Here there was no mention of pulling to the left, but neither was overtaking in the pitlane exit not allowed.

Can’t really understand the point of rushing like that and trying to pass everyone in the pit lane…it wasn’t even qualifying!

He’s the only guy doing it again and again and he has been doing it for some races now! Classic slow reaction by the FIA…

He had 12 minutes or so of representative practice time. and he wanted to get as much laps in and be as prepared as possible. Every extra 10 seconds spend on the pit exit could cost an opportunity to drive extra lap. Is it really that tough to figure out? I can't actually understand why Hamilton was crawling down on NEUTRAL, creating a traffic jam behind, instead of rushing out on the track, as he was one of the drivers that missed FP1 as well. Probably he isn't that eager. Probably he preferred(or needed) extra slow out lap, but that's not Max problem. He needed fast outlap, and the rules were cleared - keep you car to the left on the pit exit and let others by if you aren't in a hurry.

He had to slow down on his out lap only because he caught up with the alpine of Ocon, and you know Ocon....lol. He made sure he won't let Max past him. and for Russell, to overtake Max, firstly he had to overtake Hamilton, which again proves the point how slow Lewis was, and secondly, whinged Russell was trying to prove a point he didn't like Max move. By the way, during the FP2 Russell did 8 timed laps, Max managed to drive 5 laps, whilst Lewis only 3. Which again backs up my point, that not only few extra seconds could be worth of an extra valuable timed lap in the end of free practice, but also how much eager was Max to get back on track. If there was anyone who had to hurry even more, it was Lewis....but it seems he simply doesn't care too much. He's secured his P3 in the Championship. What position Mercedes will end up n Constructors doesn't bother him at all.

My point was always about leaving space and staying left, which was just a brasil thing.
