You know what is funny?

Lewis said he used up ALL his KERS on the straight before he overtook Webber. here is the evidence guys, what excuse you do have for LH now?
Q: Obviously the start was important today, tell us about that.

LH: It was very close. I generally didn’t really get a fantastic start initially, being on the dirty side, which is normal. Kimi seemed to get an incredible start and was up alongside me and I seemed to level off with him once I was on the KERS - we were both on KERS, I think. I don’t think he saw me but he was behind Mark and he moved to the right to go past him and we nearly touched. I went to the right and fortunately Sebastian gave me enough space, so no collision there. (I went) a little bit wide at turn one but back on KERS - you know KERS is working very well and just the whole package was fantastic but for once I was able to really use KERS to my advantage today, so that was good.

Q: Does it work better on a twisty circuit like this?

LH: No, not really, you’re always traction-limited and so it’s better with lots of long straights. I think here you could always see that my sector one has been the strongest all weekend but that’s largely due to KERS really, on the main straight. And with this kind of start there’s such a long stretch down to turn one, a bit like in Germany, it gives us a great opportunity to take a few places.

Q: (Tony Dodgins) Lewis, key moment when you passed Mark in the first stint. We’re not used to seeing people go round the outside there, was that the KERS button?

LH: I’d actually used all my KERS down the straight because actually I thought that I’d be able to get him in turn one but he blocked, so I went to the outside. I think I may have used a little bit at the beginning but I ran out. Mark was in my blind spot eventually, so I couldn’t really see him, so I gave him plenty of room and eventually I saw him fade into the back. It was quite a straightforward move but clearly Mark was very smart, he’s got to score points and there’s no real point in him to taking silly risks. As for me, I needed to get past him. I was absolutely surprised to see that I was even able to keep up with him but I was able to go past him and still pull away whilst looking after my tyres, so it was good.

This coming from the guy who lied through his teeth in Australia mind you. I'll give him the doubt though. He drove a fantastic race, never faltered, and show he is an awesome racer. My hat is always off to Lewis when he wins, Lord knows he'd kick my ass any day of the week.

Congrats to JV Jr. on the race win today. Proved today that he is no better than any other Formula 1 driver by having the best car and winning the race. I'd love to see what JV Jr. would do in Alonso's Renault.

So you noticed that too? Based on Q3 weights it looks like the Merc (in the Mclaren at least) gets excepetional mileage. With the same consumption as the red bull LH should have been in on 17, and at least one lap before Webber. When did he finally pit? I think it was 19, but maybe even 20.

Sorry, Hamilton is a guy who let Seb Vettel overtake him in an STR in the closing laps of the Brazilian GP last year when the championship was on the line. I really don't understand the hype for Hamilton. Without his sugar daddy Ron Dennis at the helm, you can see how horrible his season has been.

Whats with the JV Jr reference? Can anyone remember what happened the year Hamilton and Alonso were in the same car?
Wasnt it World Champion against a rookie?
Who out drove the World Champ?

Cant remember for sure!!!!

He didn't outdrive him. Check your stats, and it was blatantly obvious he was being favored heavily over Alonso same as today over Heikki. He Scored the same number of points over a whole season, that is not domination or out driving. Plus his stupid handling of this years race in Australia shows his true colors. He's a fantastic driver, but he's no different than the rest.

They both had exceptional cars. They tied with a 109 points. As usual, Hamilton's screw up (China & Brazil) cost him the title. If it wasn't for Timo Glock last year, he wouldn't be the champion today.

He did screw up the last races of 2007 and it did cost him the title. It was an amazing firts year for him. Coming within 1 point of WDC and then winning it in his second year was incredible.
I'm not sure why he is disliked so much but that is something that many top sportsmen have to endure.

It was a fantasic drive this weekend for Hamilton and shows just how good he really is in a car that clearly wasn't the best on the grid.

For the record, I never said I hated him. I just don't think he is as good of a driver as many people think.

As did Alonso, Putting it in the wall in Japan 07 ended his championship hopes, they all make mistakes.
