Slightly misleading given that he gained some of it back by having a better exit.avantman wrote: ↑25 Nov 2023, 19:51https://ibb.co/Jms5Z0CXyz22 wrote: ↑25 Nov 2023, 19:43Yeah, the first corner was the worst for Lec, but also the fast one before the final slow part of the track. Lost like 0.05s there (half of what he lost in the first corner).avantman wrote: ↑25 Nov 2023, 19:40
Leclerc lost the pole in the first corner, which is neither long nor fast. 165kph on the apex. Overcautious early braking from Charles there, which is understandable, given lack of reference from the first run in Q3.
There was nothing between him and Max in the rest of the lap. All the damage was done in T1 alone.
Based on this, Charles lost 0.14s in the T1, which is of course more than his deficit in the end of the lap.
But he does lose a lot by going in cautious.
Surprising to see the typically early braker Verstappen gaining on braking and losing on exit.
The problem with Norris is that this is becoming something of common occurance for him, he pushes, he overdrives, he makes mistakes.Sieper wrote: ↑25 Nov 2023, 20:08Is also risk level. Risk doesn’t come free. Charles is always willing to take it, and had to here, but it also causes moments. Max these days knows exactly how much to take. I think he could have done more in s3 but that is also a bigger chance of a Norris moment, or worse so he didn’t. Checo was way closer to the wall. And over the white line. Point taken.
While someone like Leclerc is awesome at going for broke and keeping it together.
It hasn't been a big problem because these days you can overtake, so he ends up getting the race result his car deserves, but to fight Verstappen and his RB you need every help you can get.
