When switching from McLaren to Merc in 2013, Lewis was informed on the state of affairs regarding 2014 PU, could the same thing be the reason for 2026?
Why would this be announced this year already and not after the 24 season? Pretty wild anyways.
First of all, this would leak one way or another (like it has), and perhaps this is how Lewis wants to repay Merc; give them a whole year to shop around for a replacement.
Incredible news. The sport needed something dramatic to inject some life back into it, and this is it. Massive gamble on both sides, but no risk, no reward.
One thing Lewis Hamilton doesn't do is make colossal decisions on a whim. If he signed a two-year deal and then suddenly made a complete 180°, one of the following happened:
1. Mercedes' project is truly horrific and he wants to bail out ASAP
2. Ferrari's is cooking something truly stupendous
