That's the only thing that would make sense.
Not sure how this is an FU to Charles, Lewis has so much experience and knowledge he can give to Charles and Ferrari, Charles learning directly from a 7 time world championship could do wonders for him later down the line. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see Lewis being given priority unless it's clear he's the one that can challenge for either the title or more consistent winswowgr8 wrote: ↑01 Feb 2024, 14:04This *potential* move sounds amazing in a vacuum, the biggest two names in the sport, it's fate, but with context added it just looks like a big FU to Leclerc, this team never ceases to add to his suffering, he is suddenly the number two now, as Hamilton winning with Ferrari would make for a much bigger story than CL winning, so LH will get priority if the time comes. I thought Vasseur was brought in because he was on Leclerc's side, why stab your no. 1 in the back like this?
hamilton is the most overrated driver of the historyDGP123 wrote: ↑01 Feb 2024, 13:36Charlie LEC bins it under any real championship pressure, or did you erase all those spins and crashes from your memory? Quick over one lap does not win you a race on Sunday. Lewis’ race craft and experience is still miles ahead of Leclerc.AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑01 Feb 2024, 13:17Far and beyond Hamilton’s worst career choice…
Nothing to gain from going to Ferrari! Leclerc isn’t Russell! The guy is the fastest over a single lap at least (and I’m a Hamilton fan)! Also Mercedes is rumored to be ahead with its engine for 2026…
So probably just a money and fame move…
As for the engine rumours. Exactly that. Just rumours.
Because Sainz would not listen to team orders this year. Mercedes would favor Russell. And if beaten by Leclerc he has the perfect excuse: i was too late to get used to the car.
Nah that's not the mindset of a F1 driver never mind the most successful F1 driver of all time.
