Sauber C44 Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Formu1a uno with quotes from Key about C44
The C44 is a completely new car, with the crossover carried out only on some components of the rear” Key said. The Swiss team wanted to make some "ambitious" choices, as their technical director defined them. One above all, the transition to the pull-rod suspension scheme at the front, a choice that AlphaTauri also made , aligning itself with Red Bull and Mclaren. "The front suspension is completely new, a difficult and ambitious project for a team of our size” said the former Mclaren.
[The new front suspension is] an aerodynamic choice and not designed for purely mechanical reasons, which made it necessary to revisit the chassis, as for most teams this winter. The kinematics are very reminiscent of the front suspension of the Red Bull RB19, with a strong anti-dive (anti-sinking) effect, which will allow the C44 to keep the aerodynamic platform as dynamically stable as possible. Gone, at least for now, is that obvious aerodynamic cover mounted on the front of the Alfa Romeo C43 and the Mercedes W14 .
These cars still have a lot of potential to be extracted” confirmed James Key, especially if the teams have been able to open up new avenues where they can extract potential from the new cars, thanks to the understanding of previous solutions. From this point of view, especially the lower part of the floor is the one with the greatest potential since it is there that most of the aerodynamic load is generated in this new generation of F1 cars and where, according to the English engineer, the Swiss team it will use a rather different approach to that seen on the C43, with a “rather prolific solution , according to James Key.
"we have clear ideas on how we want to approach the season and we are working to arrive as prepared as possible on the track to better understand the car” concluded James Key, confirming that the first developments on the C44 will arrive very soon , for a car that in the factory it seems to have a lot of potential but that will have to clearly show them on the track.
extremely aggressive sidepod solution I'd say?

So :
1- Pullrod at the front
2 - Modified side pods entries with lower lips more forward, a bit like RedBull but with different geometries
3 - Big undercut
4- New air intake above driver

Did Sauber rebrand to Skoda?

Looks like a very boxy top half of the car to me, and the engine cover area feels like it could itself be generating downforce with that much horizontal surface.

5- New gearbox
Sauber only manufacture the gearbox casing. The rest of the gearbox they buy from Ferrari

Well, it's a unique gaming livery

Not sure about too many details we see, last year there were some intentionally wrong details on launch renders.

The sidepod design tells its own story, I believe this will be quite close to the real luanch spec. Sad to say it doesn't look inspiring with the lack of detail on it, it's far less detailed than RB19 sides.

Wings and the floor look like a mashup of C43 and made up bits overall...
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Somehow more extreme copies of the original never turn out to be near as good.
