Wolff: Our aim is to consolidate our positions towards Ferrari and Mclaren, sometimes Aston Martin, and be at the forward part of that group
Where is that quote from? i've not seen anyone quote it on social media or him say that during the w15 reveal

Gotcha, i missed that part, based on what he said in the article seems like he's not getting ahead of himself before testing, got clowned on for saying they could challenge RB last year who then went on to win every race but one

Not exactly Christmas. But then again, they've been known to undersell expectations before.

Mercedes must be in trouble when Einhel is their sponsor.

Livery is very nice. It reminds me of the Mclaren West liveries.
Agreed, best livery since a very long time, and best looking car since 2021 =D>

I believe that Mercedes will be second in the championship again this year, but with several wins, and closer to Red Bull.
I also believe that AM , McLaren and Ferrari will grab a win or several.

Maybe this is jsut me to enthusiast, but I believe with this third year of rules it will be closer at front

Five teams winning a race. No chance. For the above to happen, some kind of catastrophic sabotage to RB would have to happen.

I predict a slow start for Mercedes, and then beginning to find an understanding about their concept in the second half of the season. I think third behind RB & McLaren is probably the safe bet.

I thinks its possible and doesn't require "catastrophic sabotage". For the sake of the season it would be great to have 5 teams winning races, and until we see what the cars are capable of I think it's prudent to wait before making any predictions.

How's the W14 driver seating position compared to last year's car?

Much further back. A very good thing. Hard to tell if it's now in that driver-ideal goldilocks zone though. Someone will likely do a before/after shot soon.

Piola's view was just posted in the car thread, according to him it's about 100mm

Moving the cockpit back by around 10cm still leaves it slightly further forward than that of the Red Bull, but as well as hopefully giving Hamilton a better sensitivity to what the rear of the car is doing, the greater distance between the front axle and the sidepods should allow better control of the airflow wake from the front wheels.

The cockpit repositioning has, however, allowed the undercut to be much smoother and less abrupt, which would be expected to better energise that crucial floor edge airflow. This is all in the service of optimising the flow through the underbody.
Hopefully that is significantly back enough to be in the comfort range of Lewis' prior great cars that it now allows him to become his normal championship goat self again.
