Imagine if the overbite sidepods like the Merc had last year are just an undercover, and because they're showing an early version of the RB20 right now, they'll arrive to the test with zeropods and destroy Mercedes.

This is by no means Mercedes’ zeropod concept.

It's still an unmistakably different shape that they have executed. Trailing edge of engine cover is very different. Sidepod itself is very different, with only the "overwing" commonality.

As per info from @Gazzetta_it RB20 is rumored to have Vertical Inlets (Possible location marked in the Shakedown pic)

What have Newey and Co. cooked this time

The lower channel between the bellies and the bottom, would have distorted the conformation of the cooling air intakes. These, in fact, would have been reduced to vertical louvers located at the sides of the cockpit

The goal is to fish some of the flow that laps the car in the lower part of the chassis, directed by the front suspension elements.

I'm seeing more of a stretched RB19 put through a smoothing filter with the addition of RB14/Alpine/W14 wing-over brimmed inlet, and W14 engine cover shoulders.
