£30m a year.
Dread to think how much ticket prices going up now
It's nothing to do with the V6 and Hybrid systems, if they had to make those smaller they would. The cars are so long because of safety systems and aero, mainly aero.De Wet wrote: ↑18 Feb 2024, 05:58https://scontent-jnb2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/ ... e=65D74749
Ridiculous Size... Bring Back V10's & No Electrical BS...

2008 sized cars with hybrid PU and ground effect aero would be something to see!!

I love it. The added technical element it adds to the sport. I just wish they'd open up the rules to allow them to try different battery tech, such as solid state etc.
Personally im not a fan of the 2026 regulations, the engines will be so weak that they need active aero to reduce drag enough so that they can barely manage a lap of almost full power.
Give me a lawnmower that has over 1000bhp and one of the most frugal power units on the planet any day!!De Wet wrote: ↑20 Feb 2024, 12:39PapayaFan481 wrote: ↑20 Feb 2024, 12:30Why?

Old School... These cars sounds like lawnmowers...
But they are racing like-for-like, not seeing who can go the fastest. The saying is that it is more fun to go fast in a slow car than it it is to be restricted in a fast car, and I agree in most cases. Speed is only relevant, not absolute or they could take out the cornersHolm86 wrote: ↑20 Feb 2024, 13:13Personally im not a fan of the 2026 regulations, the engines will be so weak that they need active aero to reduce drag enough so that they can barely manage a lap of almost full power.
Only good thing is that they finally start to regulate the length of the cars.
Another problem i have with the 2026 regulations is that we've only just got the ground effect cars for 2 seasons, and the teams only get to grips with these regulations before the introduction of new aero regulations.
FIA need to understand that stable regulations is what will gives better racing over time
I don’t understand why the 2022 regs didn’t mandate a shorter wheelbase.PapayaFan481 wrote: ↑20 Feb 2024, 11:55It's nothing to do with the V6 and Hybrid systems, if they had to make those smaller they would. They did. The first time a maximum wheelbase rule was introduced.
