yes but mercedes when trying to fix their problems must have tried a less extreme version, they've been working on this since 2021
the problem must be somewhere else
All he said was the ideas are similar to mercedes. With respect to the engine cover, vertical inlet and overbite you can already say this is true without needing a dramatic zeropod.
he is talking about sidepods

Helmut Marko has now officially confirmed that Red Bull has gone in a similar direction with the sidepods as Mercedes in the past. "It's more than an evolution. It's a small revolution," said Marko about the RB20
Without knowing what it looks like, you have to let this "RB = W13" conclusion go. It's very premature.

You're seeing ghosts. Do you speak German and have you watched the interview the quotes are taken from? He's talking about the car as a whole not the sidepods specifically ](*,)

He's asked if it resembles the mercedes zeropod design so of course he will then make reference to it. He's not the one who brought it up

no one said it's gonna be a copy of W13,just that it's going to be zeropods, what's up with the mental gymnastics?

Marko doesn't say the car is going to have "zeropods as the W13". It is only interpretations by reporter. Look at what is in quotes, and what is not.

That's not a direct quote of Marko but a quote from the admin who runs that RB news twitter account... Just someone who has read the article and interpreted it a certain way that will get clicks / shares ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,).

The zeropod crusade. There's no point arguing, this is a point of pride for some inexplicable reason.

and he answered that it's similar, what's going on? for the past 2 years every car that switched to downwashing sidepods was refered to as redbull sidepods or concept even if it was only similar

and now that Helmut say they are going with a similar zeropods concept and we have reports from motorsport saying they are going for zeropods suddenly we can't say zeropods anymore?

He says the RB20 has similar ideas to the W13/W14 after he's asked if the car has resemblance to the Mercedes. You have interpreted that to mean zeropods

"It's a small revolution," the Red Bull advisor tells ServusTV . "Our revolution may not be as big as Mercedes', but it is moving in their direction. Everything worked very well in the simulator and in the wind tunnel. Mercedes was also convinced by the data of their concept without sidepod , but in practice it didn't work at all. During the test days we will see whether we can successfully implement this solution.'

direct quote from the article
i didn't interprete anything, since the report from autosport about zerodpods you keep spinning this everytime someone mentions it, who has more credibility?

In an interview with ServusTV , Helmut Marko has now officially confirmed that Red Bull has gone in a similar direction to Mercedes in the past when it comes to side pods. "It's more than an evolution. It's a small revolution," says Marko about the RB20.

He emphasizes that his own solution this year is "not as extreme" as Mercedes' in the past, but he also admits that the idea was "in a similar direction" as the team from Brackley back then.

"And we will now see in the tests whether we can successfully implement this solution, or let's say a similar solution," says Marko, who emphasizes that the concept that Mercedes tried out two years ago is completely logical in theory .

Because the bottom line is simply to have “less air resistance”. Marko explains with a smile: "Adrian Newey would always prefer cars without radiators. But of course the engine people won't allow that. But it's logical."

So they went Mercedes direction. Which is unique.
Which direction do you interpret them to have gone?

from my understating they are bringing zeropods because they saw the gains in the windtunnel, but they must have a plan b if the gains don't materialize like it happened to mercedes
maybe gradually bringing parts and see wich cause problems
