This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
I think that this second year together things will go much better.
Last season they had mistakes and problems after a brilliant start.
They got a little lost looking for solutions but I think in the end they understood the problems and their solutions.
They learned a lot. If nothing had happened to them, they would have learned less. It is even recommended that it happens at the beginning of a serious team.
If they can improve the rear suspension that is limited to their base Mercedes... with a shorter gearbox, offsets... and something else... they will probably come close to the aerodynamic efficiency of the RB.
It would be necessary to know the real performance of the Mercedes engine in Aston. And the driver, of course: who is going to be able to travel with Max for an entire race? I would love to be sure that Fernando can handle that and more... but... Maxxx
It would be nice, some good fights in the front positions throughout the race. Mercedes and the prancing horse may cancel themselves out with their troubles, future interests, etc. Can favor RB, AM, McL. Although the battles between almost ex-comrades can offer incredible things.
The thing is that Max doesn't run away all the time and that at least Fernando is nearby without climbing the walls.Let it at least seem like he has something else in store.
The car looks good
Oremus....
Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.
Stroll is not a problem, the constructors' rankings are of no interest to anyone and no one remembers them. Better for Alonso to have a Perez-style driver who bothers you less in positions that matter. The important thing is the drivers' classification, so we need a car, not just the fastest on the grid, but one that gives Alonso the chance to fight for victory every race. We'll see
The good thing with ALO behind the wheel is that he doesn't mess around.
He drives the car right from the beginning in race and not test mode, wants to know if its a good or bad one.
He was a lot in the live feed in this 2 hours and I more and more get the feeling that the car is back in his comfort zone like in the first 1/3 of the last season. Can be pushed to the limit, much easier for STR.
And again, although lifting at the stright line is reported, is it again a bit draggier than the others?
Biggest question will however be: is it just nice to drive or also very fast....
Preferential treatment for STR, as expected, but at least the best option in theory for the other driver (only 1 afternoon, but the last one at least).

How is this preferential treatment for Stroll?
2 afternoons, compared to only 1. Track will be dirty in all 3 morning sessions (sand) and much better in the afternoon.

I always like to think that the driver who drives first is better off. His input sets the direction of changes for the day.
We were very aggressive with our update programme last year. For example, we brought new floors to the Sprint weekend in Austin, but this year we are going to be a bit more cautious about sending significant updates to Sprint weekends where we can potentially cause ourselves confusion.
