Norris had massive lockup at T10 twice, to end both his C3 and C1 stints. Braking whilst turning with bump + tight slow corner whilst track falls away.. I can see it being a problem for McLaren car

Does anyone have the speed trap from afternoon?
To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. ― Bruce McLaren

Curious to see Lando about slow corners...

It's a brand new suspension configuration and the first day on track ...

Give it some more time before calling it a car weakness. You'd be surprised how much dialed in things get when you're on top of car setup.

So first impressions is that Red Bull is quick out of the box. Not sure if what they have is size zero pod but it is working. Mclaren also seems to be a fast car. How much compared to Red Bull? Noone knows as we havent done any qualifying simulations. All Im hoping is for the team to be closer to Red Bull than last year.

Well it was a car weakness of the previous year. And stella talked about not having solutions on the car yet to every problem they wanted to tackle. I'm pointing out that it was a problematic corner for them previously and twice in consecutive stints it caused an issue . Of course they can improve but even initial impressions tell you a lot.

Go bac k to testing day 1 in 2023: we had already known: Ferrari hopping & unstable but quick over a lap, Merc with rear-end issues, AMR quick particularly on braking and in slow corners, RB imperious. These characteristics carried through broadly speaking all year.

To be fair, it seems like t10 was a problem for everyone

I think the problem with the front left wheel locking up has more to do with brake balance. Turn 10 is a complex architecture, there is a lot of wheel locking because the left side is out and the inside of the track goes down.

Are we gonna expect upgrades in the next two test days or at the first race?

IIRC Stella said what they launched was pretty much the car for the first few races. It seems Ferrari and RB are planning larger upgrade packages for Japan - McLaren might do the same.
