Since the cars, the tyres, the track and the weather conditions from last to this year didn’t change, we’re in a situation in which comparing is much easier than usual.
Max has done a 1:31.3 on C3s about 20 minutes ago. That’s 1.6 seconds off his pole lap from last year which of course is really good for first day of testing. A good indication of how fast the car is, is how easy it looked when Max was doing the lap. It’s also telling that RedBull was kinda hooked up from the beginning of testing and started with setup work when all the others still were doing aero work with rakes.
It will be interesting to see other’s low fuel runs too, but I think this is not going to happen before tomorrow or even Friday evening. The other teams need to sort out other things first.

Redbull has one of the worst drivers on the grid as their number two. Not only that, the poor bloke generally gets a strategy that had a single aim of benefiting Max.
There is a danger that a second year of unopposed domination will turn off many viewers.
We shall see, but I personally don't think it's good for the sport. Great if you're a fan of Red Bull and Max of course though.
The dominance of Mercedes didn’t scare viewers away, and that was worse. Just a few fake battles and Mercedes turning engine and up later when needed. Stop whining and fix your --- car.
Still think no team gains 1s come Q3 from last year. That would put RB quicker than 2021 cars, on a track like Bahrain, which would be quite an achievement with these boats.
