It is a skinnier rear wing.
Pretty sure that last lap was on the same downforce wing as one that was run yesterday.
yea its the same wing Russell was running yesterday, Lewis started today with their old barn door wing

I really hope this is just an experiment, but I really am not confident that Mercedes has finally managed to get a grasp on these ground-effect cars.

Considering hes sliding all over the place with the current setup I don't think it's truly representative, car seemed very good on deg yesterday with Russell.

The deg was pretty good for Russell yesterday. Seems like they're trying extremes with Hamilton's setups at the moment.

Russell was like a snail yesterday, hardly pushing or very heavy. That’s why the car looked stable and quite good, but it was quite slow. Any push for performance and it’s a mess

That isn't true at all. They didn't do any performance runs no, but his long runs were on a par with Verstappen's long runs accounting for tyre delta.

Russell was pushing, they just weren't doing low fuels runs which seems to be the case again today, Russell put in very good times on the C1 towards the end of the session

Jack Doohan (Alpine reserve driver) seems aware that Alpine won't be that fast. He didn't say it directly but reading between the lines I think it is clear.

No if you check the alpine team thread the TP and TD already said much the same. Will be a tricky beginning but they hope to have built a car that will be developed well
