this is a really good tire wear considering last year Verstappen did 13 laps in the first stint
Thanks. Safe to say this started with a full tank and most likely finished the stint on the same tyres used before the red flag...
9 laps old soft tyres (for Bahrain) at the start of the stint, hot trackCouncilorIrissa wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 13:46Looks like a 1.5 second drop-off, I can’t see how that’s good? Although track conditions are at its hottest.
Tire age != stint length.Sphere3758 wrote:Am a bit confused . Why does the live timing page say "18 laps" at the end then ?
Got it, thanks! I can see it now.CouncilorIrissa wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 13:50Tire age != stint length.
The tire compound was scrubbed already, I guess
Yes they did 6 laps on the tyre and then 18 laps after red flag. So 24 laps totalVanja #66 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 13:47Thanks. Charles was on 10 laps old tyres at the start of this mini run.
If they are simulating first stint, it would only make sense those are the same tyres being pushed on 31.7-8 laps earlier, so also used before the first part of that stint
Sorry correction: The 6 lap stint before the red flag was done on a used tyre (started age 6 laps, ended 12 laps old). After red flag they used a second set of used tyres, (started age 6 laps, ended age 24 laps) and that used tyre probably would've done outlap, fastlap, inlap x2.
