...According to Alonso, "the new car is better than last year's, that's a fact. We have corrected some things and made progress in others. **The problem is that the mid-range is at a very high level**". And it is especially the irruption of Racing Bulls, the Red Bull subsidiary team, that is altering everything. Getting into Q3 is going to be very expensive.
He sure not, because Mercedes worse than Aston. You really didn't watched the test? Alonso at C3 compared to Redbull just was 0.4s slower. What is interesting that Alonso at C3 at 1st sector was the fastest ,even faster than C4 guys. The 1st and the 3th sector is the same so he should be almost the fastest there also but wasn't, which tell us the truth. In my calculations Aston 0.350 sec slower on C3 than Redbull. At C1 long run Alonso was fenomenal mich better than Mclaren. The top speed also amazing, so I'm 90% sure that Alonso will be on podium at Bahrain if nothing unexpected happens. They made an amazing job at winter!AR3-GP wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 19:21r85 wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 19:14https://www.motorpasion.com/formula1/fe ... omo-pasado

Alonso said it himself above. "Q3 will be expensive", and Mercedes is reportedly level with Ferrari.OnEcRiTiCaL wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 19:52He sure not, because Mercedes worse than Aston. More than what Alonso says you have to look at his body language. For example in 2023 he was also being cautious in his public statements and saying difficult races at the start because he had to get used to the car etc... but every time he spoke there was a smile on his face that he couldn't hide despite him trying. This time from what we have seen is that his body language is poor and other journalists have also commented on that fact...
Interesting, so I have to apologize for misquoting Alonso. He didn't say the "Q3 is expensive" part. That looks like journalist spin.KimiRai wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 20:03More than what Alonso says you have to look at his body language.
