There is a disagreement between a driver and an engineer.

Do not attempt into reading anything from Mercedes personnel or drivers. Not bullshitting in interviews is not a concept in their team.

Charles can't stop saying the 2023 test was awful :D

More from Matteo Bobbi (Sky italy commentator, Formu1a.uno collaborator) as he said that Ferrari team members told him the car is a massive massive improvement compared to the SF 23. Having said that, RB is unfortunately still ahead because they had so much time to pursue new aero developments last year.

Now the car has still some weaknesses the Team is working on to improve. According to Formu1a.uno information there is a huge bodywork upgrade running in the wind tunnel right now that should be ready at least for Imola.

The guy drove the truck that was SF1000 and yet the SF23 felt worse

The SF1000 probably felt better than the SF90 and SF23, though.

I think the expectations for last year were probably higher as well, so bigger disappointment.

In any event i edited my previous post with new info about the SF 24 from Formu1a.uno

Interesting. Imola is race 7. Will they do anything before then? Mclaren probably will jump them in Japan if they aren't updating until then.

According to them is a huge upgrade so likely that they won't make it in time for Suzuka.

RB are doing 1 package at Suzuka, 1 package at Imola. I expect many teams will do the same from what I'm hearing

Ferrari however have a larger 1st package so they might miss Suzuka and bring it somewhere in between

We don’t even know the gap between teams yet, seems premature to say McL is going to gap them in Japan. I prefer Ferrari followed their process and got comfortable and consistent with it. I don’t need 6 different floors in testing like in 2023.

Exactly this.

Learn what's really going on first with the car, were it really stacks up before throwing bits at it.

I do wonder how good the SF1000 would’ve been had it got the Power Unit of the SF90 (yes I know, found to be illegal, though nobody knew why etc) surely the whole platform was compromised having to run with a detuned Power Unit and having to adjust the setup to compensate for the lack of power/deployment?

But anyway, nice to hear that SF24 seems better to drive than some of the past cars… wonder how it compares to the SF75 (minus the porpoising!).

I’m positive any car put to the scrutiny the SF-90 went through would be illegal.

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari): "The SF-24 is a very different car from the F1-75, but in terms of handling and reaction to settings, it is much more similar. In terms of balance, it "It's a different car. We need to make some progress in the slow corners and how to turn it better."

I suspect one look at the underfloor would tell us why it picked up low speed understeer...
