Fred will go to Merc if they take him. They simply are a better team and will out develop Aston. The last 3 years have humbled Merc, and they will be the better for it. Fred’s talk that he’s evaluating both Aston and Merc all year is just smart politics so he doesn’t torpedo the year at Aston like Ham did at Merc. Granted, Ham had to announce because he had to escape contract binds, but a torpedo is a torpedo at the end of the day, and Fred simply had better political options to exploit than Ham.

But yea, Fred is gone to Merc if Toto takes him.

For a single year contract? If they were keeping Lewis on a short leash they aren't giving Alonso anything longer and that was a large part of him leaving Alpine. Not sure why everyone is so obsessed with this Merc narrative

During Alonsos longrun in lap 6 he had a lockup in turn 8 which caused his time going from 37.2 in his previous lap to 37.6 in this lap, he probably got a flat spot cause afterwards his lap times dropped which make it look like he had bad tyre wear.

It seems that, they have little bit problem with the brake balance. Shame ,because last year, one of best strenght of the AMR23.

The tire doesn't look like it stopped rotating here. It's more like the opposite of wheel spin. A little bit of "underspin".

Alonso, in car radio, said they made another step forward in the setup this overnight. They're looking good in FP3, hopefully they can carry it over to Quali and the race!
