F2 2024 Day 1 test times
Bearman being considered one of the "biggest talents" makes me physically ill. One of the most arrogant, eliteist and disrespectful drivers I ever had the disservice of racing against. His dad is a real piece of work as well. Bearman got smashed regulalrly in karts, ended up buying an engine builder that was a known cheat to win races and got so much money thrown at him that he couldn't avoid winning if he tried. Won a world championship with one of the best engines in europe and no competition, all the other top drivers in karts had run out of money or raced in different classes (rotax, kz or ok). Always knew he'd get to f1 with his financial backing. It makes me sick to think there where at least 15 drivers in just the uk who regularly beat him week in week out and yet because of how motorsport works he is the one who makes it. crazy worldSoulPancake13 wrote: ↑29 Feb 2024, 16:31Prema have two of the biggest talents in the sport and give them one of the worst cars in the field lmao. At least Bearman and Antonelli are matched, those two probably make it to F1 next season if this is the case.
Is it fair to say Invicta have the best grasp on the new car?
I see! Could those other drivers make it to TCR UK or the BTCC instead? BTCC teams are always looking for the next Ash Sutton!Apexseal157 wrote: ↑29 Feb 2024, 18:55It makes me sick to think there where at least 15 drivers in just the uk who regularly beat him week in week out and yet because of how motorsport works he is the one who makes it. crazy world
Interesting. Well at least Kimi is one up on him in head to head qualifying.Apexseal157 wrote: ↑29 Feb 2024, 18:55Bearman being considered one of the "biggest talents" makes me physically ill. People just love so much that his dad was a Kimi fan that they ignore his name is Andrea.
You need huge sponsorship to compete in the btcc, I think about 300k-400k, when some drivers spend over 250k a season in karts so stepping up is incredibly difficult. Money is the defining factor in most driver's carrers, going up the ladder "properly" (f4,f3,f2) would cost 10s of millions (in sponsors or your own money) and/or backing from a state/f1 team (it can cost crazy money to join a f1 academy), an optional extra is to have pre-existing connections and use nepotism to climb thorugh the ranks, Jack Doohan wasn't so hot in karts either but it looks as if he'll make it (connections to redbull via his dad proped up his entire career).JordanMugen wrote: ↑01 Mar 2024, 01:39Is it fair to say Invicta have the best grasp on the new car?
Prema seem to be off the pace.

Maloney wins the sprint. Strong finish from Bortoleto in that sprint. Antonelli (P14) had the pace to easily see off Bearman (P16) too.franbatista123 wrote: ↑01 Mar 2024, 10:58Still early of course but Bortoleto might just be one to watch... F3 champion and pole on his first F2 race.
