Will FIA or anyone ask questions to the teams other then Redbull to say "WTF are you doing with your money?" lol

Ok Merc started again so 2 years wasted development
Ferrari?
McLaren?
Alpine?
Aston?

Have they all just spnked the money away?

Its not like Red Bull rocked up with a slightly changed car either, they have made some big changes yet still power to the front. I guess if they have max performance from ground effect then maybe thats why but still.

But Red Bull team principal Christian Horner thinks that Bahrain did not offer a clear picture of things because his team was on a different tyre strategy to the opposition.

The allocation it had for the race meant it used a soft tyre for the final stint, rather than the hard everyone else had, and he thinks that exaggerated the gaps at an event that was cooler than normal.

“You can't read too much into a single event, because of the nature of the circuit, the temperature, and the fact that we are able to carry over a soft tyre into the race,” explained Horner.

Horner does not agree that Red Bull is so far ahead, and he reckons that the picture from Bahrain actually points to a bigger threat to his team.

“I'm sorry that it wasn't a more entertaining race for you, but that is the result of the team doing its job and producing an incredible car,” he said.

“We have a sample of one race and I have the feeling that the field is going to concertina this year. So I don't think you can take anything for granted out of this one race on a specific surface, specific conditions.

“I've been in this business too long to draw too many conclusions from a single race. It's a fantastic start and we enjoy this moment.

“But it's a long season, many different venues, different challenges, different conditions. And what we saw in the testing is things are closer.

“We got it right this weekend. We took the right tyres into the race. We executed a perfect race with both cars and we got a great finish. But I think that it will converge.”

lol true. But you would think with all the photo, video, data eveything available they would make more gains then RB could

Let us not delve into embarrassing comparisons. Tesla was well beyond his time, some of his most important inventions are still under lock. Newey, who has a fantastic engineering and innovative mind, was beaten by Rory Byrne for 5 years straight while he was in Ferrari. Byrne also beat him while he was at Benetton. Due to such massive beating, Newey wasn't given what he expected from McLaren and accepted RBs invite.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Any insights yet on what the brake issue was for Leclerc/Ferrari?

Haven't heard anything so far, but they're supposedly still investigating with Brembo.
Apparently the front left air intake was replaced just before the GP; you won't change such a thing without suspicion I'd say.

The brake temperature separation is something that Mercedes experienced last season (in Abu Dhabi iirc). I'm not sure what their explanation was.

Rory Byrne was excellent engineer.

Newey dont make engines and that time not all teams use same tire brand ,that is huge difference.
From your logic Newey was beaten by Lowe and Alison from 2015 to 2020, everybody knows that Red bull has the best car all this years but has bad engine, Merc engine was universe from Renaulat. Newey is even considering leaving Red Bull because of this.
Bad engines are not Newey faults.
By the way Benneton 1994 was illegal car.
Read his book to find what really happened in Williams ,Mclaren etc.

Look today, 3 years thousands of very smart engineers cant solve problems with venturi cars , RB has no problem from first race.

Yep. Brixworth aced the power unit test (the Merc unit was a gem and split turbo is a still-under-recognized creative stroke) and it bought the team several championships. The story quite literally starts there and ends there; only need to compare WCC results 2013-2014 and track when engine parity was achieved.

Fernando Alonso has joked that Adrian Newey has been responsible for “19 drivers over two decades” losing World titles.

Interesting. Didn’t seem like it given your comment. Maybe you don’t know how it works?
